Wow, thanks! I wonder if there is a complete version somewhere in the vaults of the American TV companies? Did they keep things like this back then? Did they realize it will all be precious historic documents?
Unlikely it was kept-film was trashed and magnetic tape was erased and reused as a matter of course during that time. Even NASA did it: magnetic tape of Apollo 11 was erased and used for recording satellite info.
@Rottenhaus Oh yeah, that's terrible. The BBC did it too. They reused tape and also recycled film because of the silver content, according to legend anyway. Or maybe they just threw it away as you say. It's a crying shame.
Per Sterling Morrison's essay "Going Back in Time with Piero Heliczer", that's Piero Heliczer filming and playing saxophone and Bobby Ritchkin (who sometimes sat in w/the early VU) on bass.
dam, what a shame! bbc aint helping by not releasing this! if released, even for free, it would create much interest etc, and we all know the script....
absolutely not, and I spent every day working for him over a period of 18 months 1966=7=8. Sometimes A-heads reek with an acrid smell but Andy was no amphetamine addict--his doctor prescribed Obertrol
Detailed description in the book "Velvet Underground: New York Art ".
