All of our meddling in world affairs has been the only thing keeping the world from nuclear war. Had Reagan not walked out of Rekjevic, we wouldn't be here now. We meddle because if we didn't, those ten-horn two-bit dictators in small countries like N. Korea would have the whole world scared to death. Look at the UN, they just let Iran take over the womens' rights commission, and China is the head of human rights at the UN. We're the only safety net the world has.

Well, he's wrong about Israel, though. I don't think they have a lot of cash. The only reason I say that is due to the immense amount of US taxpayer money that is sent there by our government, something to the tune of $30,000 for every single person in that country, including kids, per year. I don't understand how our gov can give so much of our hard earned dollars to people in other countries all the while we struggle even to just pay our taxes! It's ludicrous.

All funded by our govt. I highly doubt Israel needs that much of our money, besides, I'd rather them get help than countries that are trying to kill my brother and all our other troops with money they get from me and you. @horyclap68 Yes, we give many other nations lots of money.We give somewhere around 3x as much to Israel's enemies than we do to Israel, our ally. Look what we did with Pakistan. $10 billion to overthrow their democratically elected gov't while we work in Iraq to install a democracy. There's no sense in that. All of our meddling in the affairs of other nations makes us less safe. We would be a lot better off if we brought our soldiers home. That won't happen, because War = big biz.

Most of that money goes straight to military development, and many of those military products are shared with the US.

Regardless of what Israel and the other nations spend the money on, though, the fact remains that the U.S. gives an inordinate amount of money to people in other countries while the people within our own country are no better off for doing so.
