Those Voodoos plus those 2 Xeons are crazy! If you had 2 of the 64mb ones the game would probably be running even crazier, but it is unbelievable that it runs on those 8mbs!

@1337JuiceLord i agree with you man. Its all about how you build it and what drivers you use. And how you implement stuff. this rig is an one of the kind and there will probably never be another one. But i can tell you i got further with the AV capture machine. So soon native video will be captured from the voodoos when i get to putting stuff togeather :P

I'll vouch for this, I have 2 Voodoo 12MB cards in sli, on a old Core 2 Duo running at 3ghz using both windows xp and windows 7, you can nearly any game from today, you should see Fear on my system, COD2, Fear, Half life 2, bascially everything, there are pages dedicated to helping you run these games on old Voodoo and Obsidian 3d cards, very simple stuff. 3DFX had to be bought out because the bascically excelled gaming 20 years into the future in 1 year.

I found 2 12mb STB Black Magic's with the Tennmax Stealth V2 coolers on ebay a while back. When you're pairing these Voodoos with a very fast CPU you should cool them because they will ramp up with the CPU. I have a dual PIII 1ghz motherboard I use with them and they are incredibly fast compared to the old 100mhz Pentium I had been running them on.

@GraveUypo have you read what ive posted before like 100times? im useing modifyed drivers allowing me to run d3d and opengl in windows xp also allowing glide. Im also using 3d analyze with that to tweak it further to allow the game to run.

i agree the game does not run on bone stock config. But again i did not say me system is stock eighter.

The game is being rendered by the voodoos and cpu mainly. Cpu is helping allot to inprove video rendering performence.

yeah allot of people bash these cards and say they are crap. I beg to differ they wore so so much ahead of there time. :) The real issue was that in that time of 1997 no pc had an cpu over like 500mhz the voodoos need way way more to show how they can perform :)

you are absolutly right Matrox and Voodoo`s needed 2000 mhz CPU`s or better to show there stuff because they did ten times the graphics Nvidia did.. nvidia kinda cheated the moment you enabled real graphics the Nvidia choked! Badly.. to 4 frames aa second.if you used basic graphics Nvidia flew!

Enabling real water affects and lighting shows the true power of the graphic card.

Plus Glide wwas the best driver which is kinda what ATI is using now and their cards fly!

i think the framerate is visible on the game. but avg about 30 to 40fps is what i recall. the exons are single cores. i got two cpus. that means two cores in total.

Framerate looks impressive indeed, especially considering that it's going through PCI interface and provides only 8 megs total. I was thinking of getting two voodoos 2 myself to work in SLI for playing old games with Glide, now I'm convinced.

yepp yepp... exactly like that :) the voodoos are cpu heavy and i got lots and lots of cpu power. Thats why i can run games on it. As long as the game can run inside of the memory span its really not that big of an issue to run it. At higher res the game takes to much memory but lower res works fine :)

the 3d mark video was taken in another rig. I explained i think in the video that was an sli rig but one card was broken.

That was an old 400mhz rig. This rig call of duty is running at is 1.7x2=3.4ghz there is some difference there.

yeah well i dont like lags and dont like to set the resulution to other then native. So i got to run stuff in 1920x1200 for my screen to work. 60fps works best but 30fps is laggy as hell. 40fps in smoke is ok. but 40fps average and 19fps in smoke wich is more realistic is not the way i like to play :P

yeah thats the good thing all games almost supports it sens it links the cards in windows not in the games. So every app i have tryed supports it :)
