Marriage has nothing to do with the shape, size, facial features, or anything with the person. It's the sex! Marriage was created for a male and female only! And this is the main problem. I don't know how many times I've heard straight people being like: "Why do you need to have marriage, shouldn't that be reserved for us". And this is not the only case, very often medicare is an issue as well in spousal transference of medicare.

I think most gay people in the end wouldn't care if it was called marriage or something else, though there is an ideological stand there, in the end it's all about EQUAL RIGHTS!!

They could have been in an open relationship at the time. There are many factors you have to take into account before throwing an assumption and jumping to conclusions.
