  • Scuz' me, but the Blu-ray disc in every movie has two part, and both are the extended edition? What's the difference? The Commentary?

  • Lucky bastered. I always wanted a Fight Club poster

  • The box set for the Extended DVDs looked much more impressive. Instead of the plastic blue-ray cases, they had elaborate boxes that folded out.

  • NERDCrocket, did u find any green tint?

  • im so pissed

i always had the regualar triology on dvd and this came out

i wanted to buy it but it was $120 so i bought them on dvd from my friend all 3 for $20

now the bluray is $40 :(

  • what is your accent?

  • Very Cool.. Looks like an awesome box set

  • DAts A FUCKING " REAL GOLD"

    GREAT MOVIE & BOX SET

  • This is so badass dude...AWESOMENESS...your theater is awesome too...and you have some really shitty people leaving shitty comments on your video, their just jealous man!!!

  • @crossworlds1 Thanks for the support dude. They have the right to their opinion but you're right, haters gonna hate! LOL

  • I like how you say you're going to show us the green tint and then you stop the video...lol...

  • ....nobody cares about your home theater system

  • @NERDCricket so this is pretty much the same extended edition bulky box they released back in 2003. Just on blu ray??

  • @OWmyDragonballz No. If you're a collector of anything or a LotR fan, this is fucking amazing. The art on the covers are awesome, the box is solid, closes with magnets, and not to mention it comes with a map of Middle-Earth on the inside of the case itself. And you can't say "Just on blu ray", believe me, as a blu ray collector, this is the best picture quality I've EVER seen. And 6.1 surround sound. 6 point fucking one. And there's a new long ass documentary too. Definitely worth getting.

  • are the theatrical versions included in this package?

  • @osheem no

  • ok i just need a simple answer i own the theatrical versions on blu ray. does the extended version blu rays look better then the first blu ray release. is there a difference in transfers?

  • @C815richard Overall the video transfer is better, especially the first two movies. There's a green tint issue with the first movie that some fans noticed. It didn't really bother me.

  • this set from warner broth. or new line cinema ?

  • @00700265 Warner Bros. New line got bought out several years ago by Warner.

  • Hold on. Are you saying that each of the films are separated into two discs?!?!?!!?

  • @ImperviousMason That's correct.

  • @NERDCricket Thats pretty fuckin lame...They couldn't just put each film on a 100GB disc?

  • Comment removed

  • @ImperviousMason the films are encoded at a higher than normal bit rate, 30 megs + per sec, min, so i have read. so the films are too long to fit on one side. it's for the best picture quality as possible

  • @DumbfoundAdog I agree with Warner Brothers on this. Plus you need that intermission to get up and take a break. The extended versions are really long but great. LOL.

  • It's called FOCUS! Why did I watch this if you can not even focus on what you are recording!? You suck ass. How the hell did you get a copy? You don't deserve to have Warner Bros. giving you the right to review this. They should have given it to KevJumba!!! You are a disgrace to the NERD community. By the way, "As seen on T.V." usually references some type of shitty ass consumer product that no one gives a hoot about. Do yourself another favor, and quite while you are ahead.

  • @nikki1619

As much as i appreciate your comment, you spelled "quit", quite wrong.

  • nice home theater!

  • @NecroHunter93 Thanks!

  • why is it that people constaly buy the same thing over and over i can understand if u havent seen the series but why keep buying not saying i hate the movies i love them

  • Why do we always get a lesser product in Holland? Why (in this case) the ugly blue cases and not these black ones?

  • @Superpiair1 Sorry to hear that :(

  • @Superpiair1 I just got this for my dad for father's day - cause you wrote that I had a look and ours (Australia) are the blue cases as well. Kinda annoying.

It all looks good though bar the fact that they put all the special features on DVDs instead of cutting the number of discs down and putting everything on bluray discs.

  • i don't like the packaging inside, I thought it was like a book, but they are all made of plastic, and can't onfold like the dvd extended version box :(

  • @zerozordon620 you actually have no discs for the digital copies. If you're using iTunes, you can just go to the "Redeem" page and type in the codes and then they'll download. HUGE files but awesome to have.

  • CD jackets are pretty ugly I prefer my version boxes are like old big books

  • I boguht today this edition.

For me it is 100% must for all LOTR fans.

  • This set is definitely the superior set hands down. I watched Fellowship yesterday and was blown away by it. THIS was the set that should have been released first.

  • Nice, I just got done seeing the trilogy again in theaters, it was pretty epic! I really like the design of this.

  • @tryinmorning Last night was for Return Of The King right? Was there a lot of people?

  • @NERDCricket There was a decent crowd. Actually, the first two parts were in a larger theater but the last was in a smaller one. I guess there weren't as many people as expected, but an awesome experience nonetheless.

  • @tryinmorning I think there were less people for ROTK because wasn't it the same night as the opening day for Transformers 3?

  • @NERDCricket who the FUCK wants to see transformers when they can see return of the king?

I remember when that movie acme out return of the king seats were packed!!

We had to wait for the next movie cause tickests were seelling out fast. I live in a big city though

  • @tryinmorning Their playing it agian in theaters? o.O

  • P.S. It's not a home theater without surround speakers. Have you ever even been to a theater?

  • The reason you can feel the bass is because you have a thumper-dumper of a subwoofer, that just gives out a lot of over-emphasized one-note booms.

  • "The presensation of the movies?" Dude, where did you learn to speak?

  • Im sorry but am I the only one who thinks its complete bullshit that they are still in 2 parts? I thought 1 bluray disc had the space of 6 dvds? Sorry Id just like to watch the extended versions ALL the way without any stops. No PLEASE INSERT DISC 2. Are there 2 discs for the digital copies?

  • the material extra on DVD contain subtitles in spanish?

  • Can you please tell me what subtitles does the extende version has? Thanks

  • love the black cases ... poor germany ^^ we've got ugly blue ones xD they aren't so bad at all though :D

  • @slup95 normal blurays are blue in states as well. These are just special edition

  • @slup95 Sorry to hear that :(

  • Comment removed

  • in the Australian version we get a Replica of the One Ring included in ours!

  • @dropbear876 yeah man how good is it! cant wait to get mine!

  • @dropbear876 Yes, but after you get tired of playing with the ring, you'll have to face reality and realize that you have to live in austrialia...

  • @dropbear876 My...precious!!!!

  • @NERDCricket :)

  • @NERDCricket did you get the ring with it?

  • @dropbear876 If you think that ring is worth the extra $40 to $50 you'll have to pay for the set here, then go ahead and pay it.

  • @dropbear876 got the same thing when i preordered from bestbuy

  • Dude you sound like "Ed" from ed edd and eddy

  • is there sneak preview of the hobbit in this set as bonus feature?

  • @backerman10 I don't think that's possible since they just started filming The Hobbit in March.

  • @drhbettathanu Correct. There's no preview for The Hobbit.

  • Very cool! I'm getting my copy tomorrow after work :)

  • @MrSonnyworld It's a cool set. I'm sure you'll enjoy it :)

  • that's pretty dishonest to review a set a week before everybody else.. just because you work at best buy or something..

  • @Nala411 LOL

  • @Mountaind3ws Sorry to hear that :( The number of Blu Rays the movie it's in shouldn't be your deciding factor because the quality is really good.

  • Hi NERDCricket, is this edition Region Free?? It there CZECH Subtitles?? Thanks

  • @mitabo I'm not sure if it's region free because I only have a US blu ray player (panasonic and ps3). Regarding the subtitle, I think it's in one of the comments below. Thanks :)

  • love the black cases

  • With the Blu-ray extended edition, can you choose to watch either the extended edition or the theatrical trailor? This option is present on the DVD extended edition version, and I am just curious if it's the same on blu-ray. Thank you.

  • I think the US version is better because of the black boxes ^_^

  • @blurayfanatico Hi, did the other releases (other regions) have the blu, green and red case as shown in the original press release?

  • @NERDCricket the UK version has the regular Blue cases and lack the "shininess" on the individual case art.

  • @OmegaSpartan08 Ahh, that's too bad :( But thanks for the info.

  • How do you do it to get it early??

  • @erickjocoteco WB sent it to me for review. Thanks. It's a great set.

  • I read somewhere Peter Jackson has messed around with the colours on this blu ray set

  • @oll666 i think he added a green tint to a couple of scenes in the fellowship of the ring.

  • @youliveyoudie the tint is there for whole entire movie but it's not as distracting as the internet make it out to be.

  • I'm so glad it has subtitles in portuguese!

Does anyone know audio in portuguese? Does it have?

  • There are alot of BD cases that arnt blue.

  • wait so each film is so long that it has 2 blurays to watch just the film wow thats crazy lol let me know if i am right on this.

  • @joseph10704 You're correct. The movie are at least 3.5 hours, with Return Of The King Clocking in around 4 hours I think. I'm sure they could have crammed each movie into one blu ray per title but the video and audio quality would've suffered. So I'd rather get each movie in 2 discs for awesome presentation :)

  • @NERDCricket ok cool one more question tho when u put ing th first disc how do u know when u put in the next disc will it tell u or no.

  • @joseph10704 The screen goes dark and it'll tell you to pop in disc 2. It's the same as the DVD EE release :)

  • @NERDCricket oh ok cool.thanks for the info bro.

  • Damn, what a setback if you compare the packaging with the DVD release of the extended trilogy... >:( Did we wait so long for THIS?

  • @abcdfgh123 While the DVD EE edition was great, I like the Blu-ray packaging better. It looks more elegant and the black and gold colors blend really well.

  • Comment removed

  • Please could you provide which subtitles are on this release? Amazon says that it has czech, slovak, hungarian ... subtitles what is probably wrong. Thanks

  • @tomasg1981 The subtitles are: english (for the hearing impaired), spanish and portuguese.

  • i really need a ps3

  • @CoreyBrownReviews Sometimes studios send me movies for reviews and this was one of them. I'm always honest with my reviews and give what I feel is there fair score. It'll probably take me a week before I write up my review for this, there's so much extras and the movies themselves are pretty long.

  • kickass i wanted to see what the inside of this box set looked lie for ever know and ur lie the first one to give a video of whats inside for real,to me i love all the films i am not a hardcore fan u can say i just think that there are well made films in my eyes lol,i think that this boxset looks cool the black blu rays cases really standout and i am so happy each film got there own case its about time the last set they did was just shit .

  • @joseph10704 I'd have to say this is the most impressive packaging I've seen!

  • @NERDCricket i have to agree wiht u on that 150 million percent buddy i think just for the why it looks i must buy it lol bluray.com gave these 3 films a fantastic rateing when it comes to pq and sq as well as the extras that is packed with this bad ass set,the only thing that i am kinda waiting for to happen is a price drop like i said before 85 bucks is alot and i am not a big fan of the lord of the rings i just injoy the movies of how they were made so thats why i would be buying them lol.

  • hey dude

    i have a question

is this a really good looking blu ray and is the green tint really bad

  • @Sub2Me4Sora The green tint is definitely there, it's most obvious when they're in the mountains with the snow. It's really clear though. The night scenes definitely improved compared to the regular blu ray edition, don't know if the green tint is the cause or the 2k transfer, maybe both.

I just finished watching the first disc and the green tint didn't bug me as much as I thought. I was fully immersed in the movie, the sound is impressive.

  • @NERDCricket idk if u seen the last version they made but compared to what this blu ray looks like now they say it looks amazing that this is what the last blu ray of the fellowship of the ring sould of looked like before,i cant wait to see what it looks like i am still thinking about waiting for a low price cut tho because right now 85 bucks is alot fo a set i just have to see still cool video.

  • @joseph10704 FOTR is definitely better in this version. The details is insane, you can see the detailed/carving on Sauron's helmet in the beginning of the flick. The first release was good but not enough details, it looked soft. If you're in the U.S, they might have a sale on Black Friday but that's a long wait...LOL. Either way good luck :)

  • @NERDCricket ok cool thanks for the info still i am thinking about preordering this set on amizion .

  • Still can't believe they cheaped out on us & gave us DVDs for the extras. The RRP is $120!

  • @backslashio I think you can get it at Amazon for around $84. It's still pricey so it depends how big of a fan you are.

  • Comment removed

  • @backslashio well u got to understand this there is a ton of extra's on the this box set because its the a better edition,so for them to go in and remaster ever single extra would of tankeing them time and alot of money ,also when u look at this when do u have time to watch all of the extra anywhys i mean it is wonderful to have all of those extra cool extras on the boxset but hey what really counts is just how the HD blu ray version look and sound on the films themself right.

  • Thanks for the video, the box set looks really good. And your home theater set-up is epic mate, nice one.

  • @Accostation Thanks man. I just wished it wasn't blurry when I was showing up my home theater :)
