Forgive my ignorance, but how do Darwin's observations of micro-evolution throw any support for the idea of macro-evolution? Darwin was observing the similarities from fossils and what he found in his day. Nowhere does he say that he found a cross between a whale and a cow. No one has found any fossils that show any transition from one animal kingdom to the next.
The quality is poorer because this segment originally contained a clip of Dr. Miller on the Colbert Report. Viacom had the video taken down. This was the only one I could find to mirror along with the rest of the lecture that had the Colbert stuff edited out.
