I take precautions to try to eliminate their chances of snatching my chickens but, COYOTES ARE SMART, TRICKY, BEAUTIFUL creatures. I don't consume any commercial animal products b/c of the way they are treated. I think eating commercial (esp fast food) is worse for an animal lover than killing coyotes on YOUR land by far. I'm practically VEGAN and I understand the necessity of protecting your live stock, pets, and children. I looking for tips to help me otherwise I'm going to fucking starve

I've only seen one wild coyote - it was right before it grabbed my dog and disappeared in the dark. It happened so fast. Tore my very precious sweet dog in tiny little peices I found in 4 of my neighbors yards.

I consider it my fault for letting my cats and small dog outside unsupervised, not the fault of the coyote for doing the job God gave him to do. Maybe in L.A people are taking over their habitat but where I live coyotes are a problem. Also any animal that kills its prey is by no means helpless as you put it. Personally I believe no animal is truly helpless try to pick up any wild rabbit for example more than likely if you can catch and pick it up it will claw and bite at you not so helpless sounding to me but what do I know eh? I've only seen one wild coyote - it was right before it grabbed my dog and disappeared in the dark. It happened so fast. Tore my very precious sweet dog in tiny little peices I found in 4 of my neighbors yards.
I will trap and hunt every last one of them till the day I die. I had no interest in firearms before this happened.

Predation is always healthy for a population, but not so nice on the individual. How many animals and even butterflies (I'm serious) are destroyed by automobiles every year? How many trails are intersected by roads and disrupted? Are you willing to drive 25 or 35 miles per hour so the animals have a chance to get out of the way? Certain species are now out of balance (extra-populated) because humans have extirpated the apex predators like most mountain lions, nearly all bears, and nearly all wolves. Deer are exploding in numbers, as are coyotes, raccoons, possums, skunks, etc. Either we give back the land we have taken from wildlife and reduce our human population or we have to be the apex predators to restore the imbalance we caused.

Land was not taken from coyotes. Wolves were eliminated by the use of poison, which is actually cruel. Wolves keep coyote populations low, once they were gone yotes moved into places they were very rarely seen before, like OR. Their pop. has exploded, and needs to be controlled. High populations mean they fight each other 4 food and spread disease that way.

I enjoy watching coyotes despite having lost several petst to them. I consider it my fault for letting my cats and small dog outside unsupervised, not the fault of the coyote for doing the job God gave him to do. The owners of the poodles should take similar responsibility. It is eminently possible to live with coyotes.

Out in the country, such animals are killed in the millions for thrills. Once a species is slandered as a varmint or vermin it has nowhere to run.
