There is nothing complicated here except your entangled mind my friend! The drums have their amazing moments just as expected from Mr. Stan and his amazing tunes and would like them to remain that way!! Though I would recommend Mr. Stan to consider using a compressor on the whole track to lift the intro more and press down the part with vocals since it "breaks through" little bit too much.
