@luvursmileXD sometimes a person wil not remember, or remember bits or all of it

depends on trance depth. I've been hypnotized several times and remember about 2%

some comes back months years later when I'm half awake in bed

only about 10% can achieve the trance called somnambulism, perhaps a natural sleepwalker.

hypnotherapy is different.

I like Laura's approach to the unknown. Curiosity. I am always amazed by how many people dismiss hypnosis out of hand without any experience.

I remember watching a kid investigating a beehive. His dad said, lookout! one got you on the bum! and the kid's hands flew to his bum. It took a while to convince him he hadn't been stung. That reminded me of hypnosis more than anything else.

I've never heard a good explanation as to why it works.

Absolutely. The hynoteuse who put me under blocked certain parts of my performance from my memory, but allowed me to remember others. It was just another triumphant demonstration of how dominant she was.

At least Lauren got to decide to go on stage! I watched from the "security" of the back row. When she snapped her fingers to put the first volunteer under I fell under too. My colleagues waved to attract her attention and she brought me out of hypnosis. On stage as a volunteer in an OTT show

Not true - one misconception about hypnosis is you don't remember anyhting. The truth is most people who get hypnotized do remember the session (in an office) and on stage many recall their experience.

I'll answer anyway. :)

Under hypnosis, a person is highly suggestible--so even an expectation of visiting one's childhood, past lives, or aliens can produce experiences which seem very real. But there's no credible evidence that they are. I do use regression, when I feel it would benefit the client to *believe* they've worked out some past issue.

As for "evil," hypnosis isn't mind control. Nobody's ever been "made" to do anything in hypnosis that the subconscious was not comfortable doing.
