And gold stars to all the jerks who insulted her intelligence. I had no clue how cloth diapers really worked a year ago and if I had seen a package of cloth diapers in the store I would have picked them up and tried them out the same way. I have friends who cloth diaper so I learned how to actually use cloth diapers properly before we tried them. But since cloth diapering isn't the norm most new moms really don't know much about them unless they've seen friends use them.
Gerber cloth diapers really are a joke - they are the least absorbent cloth diaper on the market. Even with a waterproof cover I wouldn't recommend them.
We cloth diaper and we love it. The trick is finding the cloth diapers that actually WORK. There are many different types on the market. Check out online cloth diaper retailers or look for a good cloth diaper store in your area. Good cloth diapers will cost you more upfront but save you quite a bit in the long run.
All cloth diapers must be prewashed several times to get rid of all the chemicals used to produce it before it will be absorbent enough to use as a diaper. I have to wash mine at least 4-5 times before I can use them.
i say use a one size all in one diaper, they last from birth to potty training and they already come with the "plastic pants all you have to do it by the inserts. they can cost a bit though, but they last a long time!
Wouldn't common sense tell you to use plastic pants? Anyways Gerber sells waterproof pants to go over cloth diapers which are made of PEVA but they are extremely noisey and very cheap. If you can find the older style vinyl pants I would use those.
Thanks everybody for your comments. Now I know about the plastic diaper covers. I wish it said so on the diaper package itself. Something like "works with the plastic pants, doesn't work without", or something like that.
if you have the time and knowledge to upload a video, you can find a site showing all the diapering needs.
ok, you mentioned they went right through, cloth diapers need to be THICK, it should look like you put 3 disposables on her at the same time. thats how they NEED to be.

5 stars for being retarded and not bothering to find out how things work before using them.
