My views on Galactus as a villain have been stated before, I believe he is presented as a being that is beyond the concept of 'good' and 'evil' and is a primal universal balancing force. If your knowledge of Marvel is mostly based on video games, I recommend you pick up a few comics, they really are much better representations of the characters.

@1jathavan The true Venom is one of the most complex characters in Marvel Comics. Eddie Brock has had far too much character development to merely be labelled as a villain. Carnage is the most God awful one dimensional killbot ever created and a Venom ripoff to boot. His stories are boring and predictable. Whiplash is a third tier Iron Man villain that I'm assuming is being supported by the recent movie? Yes?
I prefer villains over heroes for the reason they have had a much more interesting/complex development throughout the years. Meanwhile superheroes became dark and gritty and "anti-heroes" villains are a bit more complex, for instance: psycopaths(the Green Goblin, carnage, etc.) the messiah/populist type (Magneto) and criminals that resembles their real life counterpart( The Kingpin) that's why i enjoy more a good written villain.
Green Goblin (Norman Osborne) has been the Bane of Spider Man's life. He screwed Gwen when he still was dating Peter, got her pregnant, threw her off the bridge without hesitation, or guilt. Told the kids Spider Man killed their mother when really he killed her. Hard not to say top 10 when he's a depraved grime piece of trash.
Jim Starlin, who created Thanos made in my opinion the best Thanos Storyline yet, on the pages of Captain Marvel, issues 24-33 , where Thanos gets ahold of the cosmic cube , and becomes a God, Fithing Captain Mrvel, The Avengers ,and almost winning. Marvel published that saga in The Life of Cpatain Marvel TPB. Is from 1973, and a pattern is esablished Thanos is always seeking for objects to give him ultimate power, but also sabotaging his attempts.

MrDomiknow - I'll take advice on my lists from someone who can spell MANDARIN if it's all the same to you. Also, Phoenix isn't a villain, it's a universal force, Dark Phoenix was a villain however. Onslaught was so mind-numbingly awful it nearly bankrupted the company and Venom is really just an obsessive anti-hero, a 'lethal protector'.
The Venom that Marvel have now - Mac Gargan is a villain. The true Venom - Eddie Brock - was a complex character who reisisted the aggressive urges of the symbiote. As he is the only Venom in my eyes, I don't consider the character a true villain.

There isn't really a single story that depicts Thanos' past, it's sort of just built upon over time. The old Silver Surfer series from the early 90s has a significant part if you can get your hands on it and Thanos' solo series is useful for understanding the character too - very rare now though. Otherwise the Infinity Gauntlet or The End have loads of Thanos motivation in them.

@1jathavan The true Venom is one of the most complex characters in Marvel Comics. Eddie Brock has had far too much character development to merely be labelled as a villain. Carnage is the most God awful one dimensional killbot ever created and a Venom ripoff to boot. His stories are boring and predictable. Whiplash is a third tier Iron Man villain that I'm assuming is being supported by the recent movie? Yes?

I prefer villains over heroes for the reason they have had a much more interesting/complex development throughout the years. Meanwhile superheroes became dark and gritty and "anti-heroes" villains are a bit more complex, for instance: psycopaths(the Green Goblin, carnage, etc.) the messiah/populist type (Magneto) and criminals that resembles their real life counterpart( The Kingpin) that's why i enjoy more a good written villain.

Green Goblin (Norman Osborne) has been the Bane of Spider Man's life. He screwed Gwen when he still was dating Peter, got her pregnant, threw her off the bridge without hesitation, or guilt. Told the kids Spider Man killed their mother when really he killed her. Hard not to say top 10 when he's a depraved grime piece of trash.

Jim Starlin, who created Thanos made in my opinion the best Thanos Storyline yet, on the pages of Captain Marvel, issues 24-33 , where Thanos gets ahold of the cosmic cube , and becomes a God, Fithing Captain Mrvel, The Avengers ,and almost winning. Marvel published that saga in The Life of Cpatain Marvel TPB. Is from 1973, and a pattern is esablished Thanos is always seeking for objects to give him ultimate power, but also sabotaging his attempts.

MrDomiknow - I'll take advice on my lists from someone who can spell MANDARIN if it's all the same to you. Also, Phoenix isn't a villain, it's a universal force, Dark Phoenix was a villain however. Onslaught was so mind-numbingly awful it nearly bankrupted the company and Venom is really just an obsessive anti-hero, a 'lethal protector'.

The Venom that Marvel have now - Mac Gargan is a villain. The true Venom - Eddie Brock - was a complex character who reisisted the aggressive urges of the symbiote. As he is the only Venom in my eyes, I don't consider the character a true villain.

There isn't really a single story that depicts Thanos' past, it's sort of just built upon over time. The old Silver Surfer series from the early 90s has a significant part if you can get your hands on it and Thanos' solo series is useful for understanding the character too - very rare now though. Otherwise the Infinity Gauntlet or The End have loads of Thanos motivation in them.

Hey. My list's not just based on evilness, Kang was one of a number of villains considered but ultimately I find these characters more interesting, and therefore better. That's only my opinion though :)
