But they are generally 1 step ahead of the testers. ! step ahead in that they usually know which substances will be monitored in which seasons. That being said, they don't go from being slow to using and then being super either. Many times they are simply enhancing the gifts they already have.

Bolt could run the 400m also and probably smash Johnson's record. He'll run 42.80. Think about it. He could jog through in 21 flat then have plenty in the tank to break the record. He'll slow down, but so does almost everyone. Rick Mitchell used to run even splits, but just about everyone dies at the end.

Bolt's world record breaking performances come from his top-end speed. His acceleration is nothing special, because as you have seen from the 100m final at Beijing, he only started pulling away during the 2nd half of the race. Because of this top-end speed, I was pretty sure Johnson's world record for the 200m was going down, the question was by how much.

quadassio, i am not trying to down you but educate you in the world of track... i run track and i run the 100m 200m and 400m and longer legs has nothing to do with your speed because when i was in my younger days and by young i mean 7-13 i was the shortest person in my age group and yes i won all of my races but my point is that i won against taller people.. it is actually a disadvantage because the taller you are the quicker you have to get your legs off the ground then slam them back down

Actually it has nothing to really do with weight. But height does play a factor. Imagine a 20 ft person running against a 4 ft person.(Just an illustration, don't be an asshole about it) A 4ft person would get dust. Longer legs can gain more ground so he doesn't have to run as hard a shorter people.

Fighting is a whole different sport, weight classes are need. In sprints, fast people are around 6 foot, taller people are generally not as quick. If it was because of Usain's height alone (and not his speed) than all the sprinters in the Olympics would be tall.

I'm a bolt fan but i don't think the 200 record maters until he does it on a tartan surface (the normal ones), because the nest's surface is a freaky new rubbery flexible thing that has a slight slingshot effect, it was very publicised during the races. So to take 0.02 out of johnson's time in the 200 would obviously be a slower effort in a tartan surface. They said it would improve almost 5 percent on someon'es performance, so michael is still the men on 200 m

Bolt could run the 400m also and probably smash Johnson's record. He'll run 42.80. Think about it. He could jog through in 21 flat then have plenty in the tank to break the record. He'll slow down, but so does almost everyone. Rick Mitchell used to run even splits, but just about everyone dies at the end.

As much respect as I have for Johnson, I think he had it completely wrong here.
Bolt's world record breaking performances come from his top-end speed. His acceleration is nothing special, because as you have seen from the 100m final at Beijing, he only started pulling away during the 2nd half of the race. Because of this top-end speed, I was pretty sure Johnson's world record for the 200m was going down, the question was by how much.

But in-order for Bolt to run a 9.5. he has to be speeding up after 68 meters and naturally as a sprinter you decelerate at that point. Meaning it wont be possible giving the fastest starting time allowed combined with Bolts fastest speed +.09 Mps....

How the great M Johnson couldn't see that Bolt didn't need that speed resistance to break his WR. MJ's PB was 10,10 aprox, so he needed a lot of resistance to make his 19,32, but this guy could've ran easily in 9,50!! It is still not a big margin for a pure sprinter, but Bolt is suposed to be precisely a specialist of the 200 m!!

Here we learn Usain's height wasn't necesscarily an advantage, but at disadvantage. He work really hard over came a mountain. This is no easy thing, NBA dudes like Kobe or Lebron could never imagine to run this fast, and those guys are fast and strong guys.

and that creates your turnovers so usain bolt is very very fast and that is some of because his height (which is not that big of a factor) and his natural talent and speed. MY parents always tell me this.."you are born a sprinter" but you can be taught to sprint but you still need talent. so height can help him alittle but it just means he has to work harder and have faster turnovers and armswings and folds.

quadassio, i am not trying to down you but educate you in the world of track... i run track and i run the 100m 200m and 400m and longer legs has nothing to do with your speed because when i was in my younger days and by young i mean 7-13 i was the shortest person in my age group and yes i won all of my races but my point is that i won against taller people.. it is actually a disadvantage because the taller you are the quicker you have to get your legs off the ground then slam them back down

Actually it has nothing to really do with weight. But height does play a factor. Imagine a 20 ft person running against a 4 ft person.(Just an illustration, don't be an asshole about it) A 4ft person would get dust. Longer legs can gain more ground so he doesn't have to run as hard a shorter people.

Fighting is a whole different sport, weight classes are need. In sprints, fast people are around 6 foot, taller people are generally not as quick. If it was because of Usain's height alone (and not his speed) than all the sprinters in the Olympics would be tall.

I'm a bolt fan but i don't think the 200 record maters until he does it on a tartan surface (the normal ones), because the nest's surface is a freaky new rubbery flexible thing that has a slight slingshot effect, it was very publicised during the races. So to take 0.02 out of johnson's time in the 200 would obviously be a slower effort in a tartan surface. They said it would improve almost 5 percent on someon'es performance, so michael is still the men on 200 m

go and watch his races from 96 400m and 200m. He was the only dominant 400-200 who did insane aerobic/strength style 400m training(long runs with short recovery) and was able to remain bulky and cut up. Compare him to the other 400 runners in the Atlanta OG final and compare him to the other 200 runners in the Atlanta OG final. Mike Johnson, the freaky quartermiler, was bigger than the 100-200 doublers in fredericks and boldon who would do less aerobic strength style runs.

honestly, jonhson was right, i mean keep in mind usain just turned 22 and johnson did say that it was very possible and that eventually usain was gonna take his record, so why hating on johnson when nobody expected usain to do what he did, and johnson knows this kid has an incredibe potential, he even said it, this guy cant be duplicated at 6'5 and so explosive
