How people can see this as better than Act 2 is beyond me. Yes, this is an outstanding piece, and Sonic Generations even perfected it, but I personally think Act 2 is far superior.

Im going on a video game music quest and click on songs from video games Ive never heard of before. I started on the Rainbow Road song from Mario kart now I made it too here.
Next Stop: Sonic Advance Music: Angel Island Zone Act 1by sonicKAI
some background graphics in the game were too monochromatic - esp. act 2 of Angel Island and some parts of the 1st act of Snow Cap (ex. red, yellow,orange for the former..then white, light blue and dark blue for the latter). But I would say that animation and effects were a step up from the previous 2 (inc. Sonic CD)...until S and K that is.

This is the zone that put me off sonic 3. The worst graphics in the whole series. An absolute eyesore - this and the lava zone look like they were ported straight from the master system. Annoying, unplayable level that should never have made the final cut.
Well, you're obviously a Sonic fan who needs an eye test if you can't see that the graphics in this level were not just bad, but awful. As were the Lava Zone - and some of the other zones in S and K. If you disagree, give a reason, or, I don't know, 'quit life.'

Whilst a game doesn't need good graphics, they do enhance the overall gaming experience - otherwise, we could all go back and play space invaders on the atari - that played well too, didn't it? 2. The graphics were good on zones such as Angel Island, Ice Cap zone, Marble Zone but were absolutely terrible on zones such as Hydrocity (which is an eye sore) and the Lava Zone (which could have bee ported straight from the master system). No consistency throughout the game.

I love Sonic the Hedgehog - and I actually really like Sonic 3 and Knuckles but I have to concede that the graphics are simply not to the standard of the previous two games. The Hydrocity zone is beyond terrible - it is a clash of garish colours and a background that lacks any sort of detail or polish. It looks like something that was cobbled together in two minutes. Compare to the Labyrinth zone.
@quiggzify you obviously never tried to make video game tiles/backgrounds, its way harder than it looks,k. graphics in hydrocity are alright, i dont see any major flaws in them.

@c9brown Wow. Uh, that was disturbing. STK are my favorite characters in the series. Knuckles was being a jerk in S3 because Robotnik had tricked him. He's naive. Whenever I think of Knuckles, I think of how he helped out Sonic by allowing himself to be roboticized in an attempt to save him, and also how he helps you in Sky Sanctuary. Not to mention the help he gives you (albeit after being tricked over and over) in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Blue Blur, Rad Red, and Flying Fox forever. >w<

The graphics were good on zones such as Angel Island, Ice Cap zone, Marble Zone but were absolutely terrible on zones such as Hydrocity (which is an eye sore) and the Lava Zone (which could have bee ported straight from the master system). No consistency throughout the game.

@dsdface Are you being serious? I love Sonic the Hedgehog - and I actually really like Sonic 3 and Knuckles but I have to concede that the graphics are simply not to the standard of the previous two games. The Hydrocity zone is beyond terrible - it is a clash of garish colours and a background that lacks any sort of detail or polish. It looks like something that was cobbled together in two minutes. Compare to the Labyrinth zone.

It's a shame they need more levels like this in Sonic Generations. there are too many city levels. I would have loved to see Hydrocity in 3D..aw well I still can't wait for Sonic Generations :)

@c9brown Wow. Uh, that was disturbing. STK are my favorite characters in the series. Knuckles was being a jerk in S3 because Robotnik had tricked him. He's naive. Whenever I think of Knuckles, I think of how he helped out Sonic by allowing himself to be roboticized in an attempt to save him, and also how he helps you in Sky Sanctuary. Not to mention the help he gives you (albeit after being tricked over and over) in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Blue Blur, Rad Red, and Flying Fox forever. >w<
