i used to love making bass bins when i was a kid. even wardrobes weren't safe. im going to get these and make a proper micro sub with 2 drivers and lowpass crossover. will post results.
@djhlsmusic bo, but i found 4 of them in one klipsch home surround system in the same box which was ported, and one 5.25 they were the subs for that surround sound, the mids n high bass, then the 5 was for low
@mythril4 I've ran my pair of 50w bookshelf speakers of an ipod and they sound pretty damn bassy! They are just attached to an IPOD (NO AMPLIFICATION)! I bet the 2" tangband subs'll run exellent with the power of an ipod. Maybe it's to do with an excessivly lower Ω's that the ipod is suppossed to run on (32Ω). It's pretty safe I guess cause an iPod puts out a low power output for headphones (like less than a watt) so an overload isn't likely unless you severely unimpede the ipod's circuits. ;)
these things are $19 a piece. my 18" sub cost $450. That means i could have gotten at least 23 of these. that sounds interesting. the wiring would be pretty complex, but 23 2" woffers would probably have quite an amazing range and quality. sounds like something i may try out one day. haha
What's the point of having such a small subwoofer? And it looks like theres a lot of mids coming out of that sub. It's a subwoofer. You need to have a crossover for it
i've got an Idea....Combine a Few of these with some of the 2" Tangband Fullranges.....that way...you have a Compact,Narrow Satatlite Speaker that can Reach At Least 120 Hz to Keep whatever Sub you have from Being Crossed too High and Getting all Muddy.

@djhlsmusic Nope, you can get tiny subs, but the really small ones are more like full range speakers

@LordPS3 It wouldn't have amazing range. It would be all mids/highs and no lows.
eyeAMtwinkEE 1 year ago
@LordPS3 i think enough of them would be able to move enough air to hit lows. like i said, i'll prolly try it out.
