Ya'll seem to be overlooking the fact that these people COULD be dancing drunk, haha give them a break. And as far as the "unattractive jerking" goes...that's not necessarily the guy's (whole) fault. If the girl in yellow didn't step so far away from him, she wouldn't get jerked back in. I'm just saying we're being a little judgmental here...
What do most people dance here? I doubt its that quick quick slow slow crap. Trying to learn someone link a good beginner vid of what They actually dance at WildWest.
I've competed in C&W pro/am. I"ve also had a private lesson with 9 x champion Ronnie DeBennedetta & Corky Ballas Dancing With The Stars long with many other champions. No one here is dancing to the beat of the song. Then the pros don't do lifts like one couple was doing, on a social dance floor the girl could get hurt or another couple could get hurt! Plus there is no jerking or pulling the girl in any true dance in the world! But the couples are having fun dancing badly that is a plus I see!
I thought it was just me but after reading some comments, I see that I was right! All these jerk movements, throwing that girl around in the yellow...you can see how her arms are being pulled. Very unattractive! A little finesse would be nice and for the man to treat his partner like a lady would be good too.

I have not seen any "two step swing" that looked reasonably good. These guys are always either way to rough or are pumping their left hands like they are trying to pump water. LOL It looks really bad. Now I do transition from Two Step to Swing constantly and I am known for doing 2 or more styles of dance during a single song. But trying to throw too many moves in a pattern is always a bad idea and never looks good. I come from a latin/country/ballroom background and frame is always important.
There is no balance or form it is way too jerky. Do these guys make love like that? twisting your ladies arm? What they need is lessons in frame, balance and dance floor etiquette. Some of the guys in this video that are not trying to do too many "tricks" look much better. Line of dance is outside and stationary dances like swing stay in the middle. Go see Don there in Lubbock he is a superb Triple Two Step dancer and teacher. don't know his last name but he dances in NM sometimes.
@ShelbyPaige1978 - Often country bars have lessons. I learned by going and letting every guy that asked me to dance that I was just learning. They are happy to help you take it slow and learn little by little.
What type of dance is this called exactly??? I want to learn this for my wedding i live in norman oklahoma and i can't find a place to learn!!! Any recommendations? You guys are really really really freaking good!!!
