I adore both of them, but NO ONE and i stress NO ONE can sing memory like elaine paige, just as NO ONE can sing the way we were like streisand, they are both amazing. just too difficult to compare two such amazing talents. To hear Elaine Paige sing the way we were doesn't sound right, but likewise to hear streisand sing memory doesn't sound right. they both will own those two songs forevermore, but to be honest if i'm looking for a musical song, i look for paige's version first.

Coming from neither party, I think Barbra definitely has the better phrasing and voice...certainly seems to feel the lyrics more and absolutely soars above Paige. For Barbra it seems natural. For Paige, it seems rushed and insincere.
