  • hahaha thats exactly how the Tech kids dance in the clubs

  • you yanks need to work on your songs big time !!!!!!!!

  • it's not the same culture around sports fanaticism....you just try and support your team by making it harder for the other team to play in your stadium. its not like the premier league where you just sing your heart out and pretend like it actually gives your team an advantage

  • when we say GO GEORGIA .... you say BULLDOGS

  • I love how the whole stadium joins in with the chant and how you can hear the band all the way across the stadium[[somewhat]]

I love Georgia Tech with a passion, sadly i was there when the bloodbath happened. need i say more?

  • We always say BUZZweiser...

  • Okay, I had heard the name

  • haha student section?

  • yea the SWARM section

its next to the band and behind the goal post

  • ye, they r always jumping up and down it seems, i sit in section 105

  • im so joining the swarm. looks like so much fun.

  • how do you join the swarm?

  • in the beginning of the fall season before football starts

its like the very beginning of school (i think first or second week)

you have to pay like $20? just about and u get a shirt and guaranteed tickets to game in that section

its great, i like it cuz its crazy and exciting in that section

  • oh yea and ur in GT right now?

  • i'll be there next year : ) totally joining.

  • Thank you for posting. I never heard of GT but I loved the Bud song & your video!

  • youve never heard of Georgia Tech?

  • well let me give ya a clue, they aren't the red and black redneck mutts up in athens.

  • lol hater

  • lol its you again. you better be at the uga/gt game next year.

  • oh I will, im going to be the drunk obnoxious Georgia fan lol jk

  • drunk obnoxious ga fan? lol yeah that narrows it down.

  • haha exactly my point lol

  • Georgia Tech first played the "Budweiser Song" as a tribute to then head football coach Bud Carson (1967 - 1971) in 1970. It has remained a tradition since.

    From the Wisconsin athletics website:

"Band director Michael Leckrone said the song's popularity got started at a 1975 hockey game ... Leckrone said the song became a football tradition after a 1978 come-from-behind victory over Oregon."

So there you have it, Tech fans. Never let a Badger give you that BS ever again!

  • Unrelated origins. Wisconsin didn't get it from Tech, but yeah, GT definitely had it first.

  • Georgia Tech bands play "When You Say Bud" regularly at GT sporting and alumni events. The band first played the song in 1970 as a tribute to then-head coach Bud Carson, and the tradition has remained strong. "Bud" is played between the 3rd and 4th quarters at football games, during the second half of Tech basketball games, as well as during volleyball matches, and as part of the 7th inning stretch in baseball games.

  • Band director Michael Leckrone said the song's popularity got started at a 1975 hockey game. "The crowd wanted to hear a polka," he said. "I didn't have any polkas. We had, just by accident, this beer commercial in the tunes we play. I told the band if we substituted the word Wisconsin' for Budweiser' it would work."

Leckrone said the song became a football tradition after a 1978 come-from-behind victory over Oregon.

  • totally ripped that off of wisconsin

  • i think its one of the oldest Georgia Tech traditions so no i think u are wrong

  • We've been doing it since the 20's. No way we stole it from anyone. couldn't say where wisconsin got it from though....

  • considering the song was written in the seventies, i have trouble believing that. from what i hear, wisconsin started using it the year AFTER tech started playin it. Go Georgia Tech, when you say BUDWEISER, you've said it all!

  • lmao. been doing this since the 20's, I highly doubt we stole it from anyone...couldn't say where wisconsin got it from though....

  • well yea i know they use this song at other schools as well... just like marching bands all play the same crap

i've heard bands all play Earth Wind and Fire... etc

But yea, i think Budweiser once sponsored us and also Georgia Tech IS known to be a "drinking school with an engineering problem"

  • when you say budweiser, you say it all!

  • BUD!!
