i really wonder about this video. i mean they just happen to have a camera when that happens? but on the other hand the camera looks away and two seconds later it looks back and the chair in the air. if the other kid put it on the table it would have taken more time and made noise. the only other thing i can figure is there is someone already in the barn hiding behind the table

Yeah, my buddies (the guys in the vid) said back in the early 1900s (the barn was built in 1854) it was a horse barn, and they were breaking in a new stallion and one of the farmhands went in there with it and it started bucking around and the guy basically got trampled to death in there, one of the family's sons tried to get in there and help but it had already kicked his chest in, and he died right there. The son was apparently one of their neighbor's grandparents so that's how they knew...

Assuming that both this video and the history you described are both entirely true, than what you have is most likely not poltergeist activity, but a genuine haunting. A poltergeist is commonly defined as the physical manifestation of over-active and/or unstable brain waves, frequently found in troubled or emotionally stressed teenagers. You may want to look further into this...

Wow... actually, the chair was hovering a bit up and down so you can cross out a fact that it was on a table or stringed in the ceiling. I didn't listen to the audio of this clip, though, witch I plan to do soon because this clip seems quite interesting. As remarkable as it sounds, it is convincing so well done. It's a nice footage...even scary.
