1) F-117 was downed over BOSNIA. The Bosnians were able to detect it using abnormally long radar waves on low frequencies. That and the rain messed with the F-117s radar absorbent material allowing the plane to appear on radar just long enough for a missile lock.

@Mikejedendva Russian fighters are NOT more manueverable - Su-33 is bigger and heavier than F-18E/F series, and law of physics governs the aircraft manueverbility. F-18E/F, just like Mig-29, are very agile in all altitude, where as Su-27/30/33 are the best at high-altitude (Su-27 series are designed to engage at over 20k feet). Russian fleet is way way too small to be in the league with US taskforces (Russian navy is even smaller than that of Chinese or Indian navy now).

The problem with air to air combat with an f22 is that maneuverability may not even be a factor in the fight, you'll probably know about the missile fired at you before you know about the f22 that fired it at you

@harris3693 STMF, You consider Su-33 as class A? Su-30/33 are still Gen.4 standard (with substandard weapons). F-15E/K/SG and F-18E/F are considered Gen 4.5 with Gen. 5 weapon & sensors. By the way, there are no such term as Class A or Class B anymore - we stopped using those terms in 1980...now I know how uninformed you ruskies are... :P
