Creed mostly played in drop D or the famous D-A-D-A-D-D tuning. And....Miles plays guitar so that makes Alter Bridges sound alot more fuller.

When he had studied lucid dreaming and tried the technique, he was able to turn right and escape the gunman. Stapp stated that after he wrote the lyrics, he never had the dream again.
Higher does have religious meaning. Blind men can see in heaven, and "golden" streets are also in heaven. We all know most singers do not sound good live because they do not have the studio to fix their voice, so give scoot a break he is doing just fine. i just found out that they got back together and its been a year.

Mark is actually able to take a guitar solo in a sond for once without Stapp wining and begging him not to because he is scared that the world will think that Mark is more musically inclined that him even though he is. In the long run, Live: Alter Bridge>Creed, Myles>Stapp.

Alter Bridge's music in general is much more elaborated and complicated to play, technically speaking, including Myles's voice range and Mark's playing ability, he became an overall better guitar player and also a shredder.
@iloverock20122102 Dude, commercial success and winning Grammys doesn't make one band "better" than another just because the other hasn't won grammys. That's a very poor view on music. Bands with a more easy-listening, radio-friendly sound (i.e. Nickelback, Creed) will ultimately sell more because the music will appeal to even the most casual music listeners. Alter Bridge however has a more complicated, "acquired" sound. Doesn't make them worse at all. That's just your own personal tastes.

To compare them is impossible because ones more vocal driven (Creed) while the other is guitar driven (AB). Both awesome

Seriously though, creed's music were better because the band didnt try too much, in AB it seems pretty obvious that the band or mark in particular are so ambitious, putting hundreds of solos isnt always the case in ametal or rock songs.
I love this song so much. He sings with so much passion and the guitar and the drums are awesome. The lyrics are so powerful and touching. It's too bad he doesn't sound like this anymore. I hope it's just that he's rusty and he'll get better with time. It would be a shame, because Scott has one of the best voices I think I've ever heard.

@pastorofmuphets... u gotta understand that guys werent at the music level at which they are nowdays.alter bridge was a new begining for all of them cause they colud play what they wanted and how they wanted.u can hear how mark for ex. developed his skills through years,take for example my own prison and overcome,2 songs 2 styles,full circle is very,very good album i could say even the best in 2009 - next to BC & SL from DreamTheater.its just a matter of taste

@pastorofmuphets Absolutely not, Creed is soooo much better than Alter Bridge, back during Human Clay they were amazing, during 2002 they played the Olympics, and have done halftime of the thanksgiving day game in Dallas. Alter Bridge was a gigantic flop and will not ever be remembered. However, Creed will be remembered for great songs such as this.

Creed put on a much better performance than AB and the crowd was much more into Creed. AB is great, but Creed is much better. I believe AB does not have a Grammy award and did not sell 36 mil copies. Probably not even 10,000. Both bands rock, just don't be that ass.

If you start thinking bands are good on how many records they sell, your basically screaming for another boring pop star.

@iloverock20122102 Yeah both bands are great, but we need to recognize and accept that Creed is the commercial one, Mark Tremonti said it in a fret12 interview, that is why Creed sold that much. Alter Bridge's music in general is much more elaborated and complicated to play, technically speaking, including Myles's voice range and Mark's playing ability, he became an overall better guitar player and also a shredder.
Now it is just about taste in music.

@iloverock20122102 Dude, commercial success and winning Grammys doesn't make one band "better" than another just because the other hasn't won grammys. That's a very poor view on music. Bands with a more easy-listening, radio-friendly sound (i.e. Nickelback, Creed) will ultimately sell more because the music will appeal to even the most casual music listeners. Alter Bridge however has a more complicated, "acquired" sound. Doesn't make them worse at all. That's just your own personal tastes.

@iloverock20122102 I have to say I think it's dumb to argue over the two because theyre two diffrent bands. Personally I like Alter Bridge just a bit more because Mark is able to branch out and do totally kick ass guitar solos that he hsasent really done with Creed. Myles is also got a bigger range and is also a kick ass guitarist but both bands have awesome songwriting chops. To compare them is impossible because ones more vocal driven (Creed) while the other is guitar driven (AB). Both awesome

@iloverock20122102 I agree, reaching almost 40 million record sales speak for itself. AB is lucky enough to sell 100thou LOL. Seriously though, creed's music were better because the band didnt try too much, in AB it seems pretty obvious that the band or mark in particular are so ambitious, putting hundreds of solos isnt always the case in ametal or rock songs.

I love this song so much. He sings with so much passion and the guitar and the drums are awesome. The lyrics are so powerful and touching. It's too bad he doesn't sound like this anymore. I hope it's just that he's rusty and he'll get better with time. It would be a shame, because Scott has one of the best voices I think I've ever heard.
Creed is awesome.

creed is way different than alterbridge. what makes creed better than alterbridge is the fact that scott stapp has a more unique sounding voice than whats his face over at alterbridge and lyrical content that creed has. way more meaningful. no doubt there both great bands but in my opinion creed is better =)
