should I assume that you weren't removing dirt encrusted glue, and that the glue had been completely removed? Or are you actually just removing glue...if so, you could just use paint thinner. Also, is it biodegradeable or are you dumping toxic waste into the ground?
@ttaylor667 -- No ... not removing the glue -- Ghost Off is not used for removing adhesive that is left behind. It actually removes oxidation build up. It's like a super powered green soap. It's definitely environmentally friendly and biodegradable.... you can't get too much more toxic than the paint thinner you're using for your adhesive removals.
We have a NEW biodegradable green Adhesive Remover as well..ULTRA ADHESIVE OFF. It's non flammable and can be used in doors or out, there's also less of a chance of harming your paint (not to mention your lungs) vs using paint thinner.
Ghost Off is not used for removing adhesive that is left behind. It actually removes oxidation build up. When removing graphics that have been on for awhile, the paint underneath the graphic has been protected while the paint surrounding it has been impacted by the environment and inevitably gets oxidation buildup. This leaves a noticeable imprint (Ghost) of where the graphics once were. Ghost Off helps to reduce the contract between the paint by washing away the oxidation.
Acetone can be hazardous and detrimental to your health and the environment. However....yes in some circumstances acetone would be the product of choice depending on what you are trying to do and if the correct safety measures are taken.
A heat gun will not remove Ghost Images. Obviously you were using the wrong product for what you were trying to accomplish. It sounds as if you were removing graphics and the glue left behind. Ghost Off is used to remove oxidation that has built up on the painted surfaces that your graphics were not covering. In most cases you would have to buff, sand and/or repaint to get rid of the Ghost Images.
