The music was originally written by Wilhelm Grosz (aka Hugh Williams), the lyrics by Jimmy Kennedy. The song was published in 1934.

Other popular recording was by Ray Noble and his Orchestra with vocal by Al Bowlly in1934

There is a Frank Sinatra version of the song published in 1958.

I did not know there was also a Henry Mancini version. Do you know the web site where I can find ir?
