Many think this was done for a Xmas tape (a series of outakes and contrived performances to be enjoyed by TV staff). In fact Eric and Dickie were great mates and had been out for a few on a Friday night, with Eric staying over. He asked if he could appear on WoS the next day and Dickie agreed (although it is not noted what LWT management said!). This entire episode was transmitted.

grew up with eric&ernie being the top comedians on tv,no-one could touch them-eric,s style of humour was his own&therefore could not be copied by other comedians-that put him in a league of his own-his "off the top of the head"one liners will ALWAYS leave this great guy sadly missed.
