Meh, I hate leaving comments on old old games but... THIS is Boxer?? That has to be one of the worst pro games I've ever seen. He HAD to have known that the vulture rush was coming, and he didn't have anything to defend with.
And I'm fairly certain Xellos DID see those starports. Even if he guessed there were proxy buildings, there is no way he could have known what kind. So that makes poor placement as well. But with the total lack of defense, it wouldn't have mattered anyway...
you don't feel like it when he went in boxer's base is guess he noticed the number of building isn't right so he knew boxer went for wraight cuz he got not marines nor vultures so he pumped them out just for the hell of it, i'm not sure that he even saw these ports he doesn't need to anyway.

Boxer's constant cheesing (and usually losing) is getting kind of annoying. He should either practice enough to be able to put up a fight in standard matches, or quit pro starcraft altogether.
Boxer tries to employ his better understanding of the game to his advantage.
Since he's not in top shape he can't bet on winning in outmacro, so he rather tries to do more risky hidden strats.
Unlike his usual rine rushes or early proxy pushes, fast wraiths and then back to mech is a very good strat especially on a tight map like monty hall, sadly Xellos took this in account and went fast goliaths...
micro = micromanagement which is how you manage your units. moving units around to give your army an advantage over your opponnent. macro = macromanagement which is how you manage your resources and what you build.
yeah that was pretty bad admitedly, he went for a bad strat, but still, he played brilliantly with what he had, continuously blocking his base and microing his non existent forces well.
its also not really fair to say he's slumping lately, given how little time he's able to dedicate to his play and how he's still able to perform well(ish) regardless.
good luck with your new job. actually I think your commentary is if not better, then just as good as klaz. on your opinion, wich is the best player this year? know you like stork but I think savior has an edge on him.
Klazart is better at reading the games ^^ he is just amazing so thats not to say you are bad diggity ;) you have the energy in youre commentaries like klaz tho, that is just great compared to other commentators (this goes for mole aswell ^^) great as usual.
btw making supply depot to get through is rather standard, you use 2 scvs to get through the first block and scv + supply for the one at ure opponents base ;)
you see it every once in awhile, but more with protoss than terran.
With terran it tends to be a little glitchy and thus more risky I have noticed. I cant remember who but someone in the qualifiers had this issue and it basically cost him the game.
also did u see the neat trick in pimpest play 05 i think, landing a building and while its landing running like full control group of mmf under pushing them all through? was like OMG O___o
Cheese from Boxer three games in a row. Yea it can be interesting when it succeeds, but this was a gamble pure & simple. It's like he knows he'll struggle in a real game and so he goes for the 9 minute game. I'm thinking he's practicing these strats against weak opponents who can't counter them. That wraith attack was doomed from early on and he never attempted to take out the comsat with goliaths popping out all over the place.
I wouldnt call that cheese, to me thats a fast tech and super risky especially when spotted.
i suspect that if boxer lifted his starports to the bottom lane they may not have been detected. although i dont know why proxy the starports since the wraith movement is pretty fast anyways.
Diggity - I'd be willing to send in quick e-mail to support your dream job if you'd provide for us a Blizzard address to send it to. I would love to see more Blizzard endorses commentating - these days, watching SC is more fun than playing for me since I have gotten old

wait up, xellos built glioths cause he saw the starport right? or was it just cause he felt like it?

a proxy starport was pointless. wraiths are already fast enough. boxer should have better hid his starports IN his base.

if boxer put some dragoon he win easy
moogleone 4 years ago
maybe, but since boxer isn't a protoss player, it's pretty hard for him to get dragoons ;-)

maybe we're onto something here
boxer should play random!
that way he can have more cheese advantage

At the beginning it shows the stats of Boxer vs. Xellos on televised games and Xellos is up 6 to 1. Now it would be 7 to 1.

Probably for the best that my computer glitched. That commentary was a ton better than the one I did, anyways. GJ

Boxer still is the best if they ever gave him some time to practice his multitasking / macro.

I think if xellos didnt spot that starport tech, boxer would have faired much better - only a few goliaths can decimate those wraiths.

I would say savior but that WCG loss to PJ sort of taints him.
Right this moment I have to say Hwasin. Seeing that bisu v Hwasin match has me convinced that the champ will come out of that match up.
