  • that drummer is bad ass, so is Ann !

  • Watched them do this last night in Auckland supporting Def Leppard and it was brilliant. Seen Zep do it as well in the 1970s and Heart comes a very close second.

  • @G2648875 Awesome,I bet the show was great!

  • OOOH YAAAA - WHERES YOUR PLANT NOW Ô¿Ô

  • Eat your HEART out Mr Plant !!

  • The Wilson sisters are the only women in rock who really capture the spirit of Zeppelin songs when they cover them. They're way better than those all-girl Zeppelin tribute bands whose lead singers try too hard to be sexy and don't have the power and emotion of Ann's voice. Also, Ann's voice is eerily similar to Robert Plant's.

  • I saw both bands do this, and Heart does it better...

  • love how ann knows she is hot lol !

  • goood:-))

  • WOW! Just...WOW!

  • @magikvmc he is a great drummer !

  • My man Denny Carmassi on drums. A little music lesson folk's

  • I remember the first time I heard this cover was in a bar that had CD's in it. That seems like ancient history now. LOL

  • happy guitar player at 1:10. Wilson can really sream..

  • Saw them live back in August and have NO DOUBT that she could carry off the Plant parts in a Zepelin tour with Jimmy, Jason and John Paul!

  • OK, I love Heart as much as loveheart, but only critique, spend a few bucks and go directly from the video audio jacks and don't tape from the TV, the resoltuion lines really suck Bro!

  • @xbounds I have never recorded Heart in my life, everything here was either purchased or given to me.I just post them for people to enjoy.I hope to repost a few that need to be ripped better. So many songs..so little time.Cheers

  • This song is awesome on so many levels! With the original line-up there jow could you go wrong?

  • Nancy is having her way with that guitar. It knows it has no choice, but that's fine because all it wanted to do was sit back and take it.

  • Just wondering why music like this has lost its"credibility"! Bring back the 70s and 80s. End of really.

  • Heart just nail Led Zepplin. man, as much I love the rest of the group, I would love to see Ann Wilson tour with Page and John Paul Jones and Bonham's Son on Drums or Matt Cammeron from Soundgarden and just blow up some serious tributes to Zepplin and Sabbath.

man this woman is singing that hard edeged blues rock with all her soul man, ...unbelievable. Janis Joplin would cry if she heard this girl.

  • @1Delta yeah!!That would be something,I guess you know Bonhams son is touring with his new multimedia tribute to Zep and his late father.

  • @lovesheart Big thanx for the headsup on the Bonham tour's tribute to Zepplin. I live in Honolulu and probably would have never heard about it. Back to Ann Wilson. man, I know she's the frontman for Heart, but to see her with different line ups would be a thrill. a good example is Jeff Beck's new band with that Australian girl playing bass and Coaiuta on drums. It's so kick ass it reminds me of Ann Wilson.

Kick Ass! does my "heart" good to see the old school still rocking brains out

  • 2 great lead players as well...solos and riffs on Magic Man were Magic....perfect for that song...brought life to the lyrics....as if she was makin love to the guitar

  • Would love to see Ann and Nancy get together with Melissa Etheridge (maybe Plant too!!!!!!!!!!!) Heaven on earth.

  • Not to mention the Beatles and Elton John!

  • Ann and Nancy have said on numerous occasions how they were heavily-influenced by Led Zeppelin and their style.

  • Ann Wilson, The Queen of ROCK~~~~~

  • So Good it brought tears to my eyes.

  • Heart is amazing!

  • I would LOVE to see Ann Wilson perform with Aretha Franklin.

  • I've seen them do this three times, OMG! Good stuff.....

  • ANN IS BEAUTIFUL!! WHAT A VOICE!!!

  • I would love to see Plant, Page, Ann and Nancy playing this song on the same stage! It could be insane!

  • Year! Heart is the great Zepp cover band and other than Heart, Van Halen (or I should say "Mammoth" ) did great Zepp covers. Well, Anne can hit the high note just like Plant used to hit it. I love Heart's version more than the Stevie Nicks version.

  • You go, Howard Leese - play that guitar!!

Heart is so friggen amazing - as much, if not more, now then they were back when they started!! THey have indeed improved with age!! Ann can SING and Nancy can truly jam on that guitar!! Wow!

  • Heart is amazing! I am the world's biggest Zeppelin fan and Heart is one of the few bands that can cover Zeppelin and not come off as a poor imitation. If Heart doesn't get into the RR Hall of Fame, then something is terriblly wrong there.

  • They are in very good company not beiing in the hall of fame. (ELP for instance) They can be proud!

  • For the longest time, Itunes did not carry Led Zeppelin tunes. Thank God for Heart. I wonder how Robert Plant and the rest of Led Zep. felt about Heart's covers of their songs?

  • Plant is a huge Heart fan. Heart absolutely idolizes Zeppelin and has great admiration for them. The feeling is mutual for Plant.

  • @JFinSD2: Not sure what Zep thinks about the cover songs, but when Plant was asked what the greatest Zep song of all time was, he answered "Barracuda". He said it's the song he'd tried to write his whole life. Safe to assume Plant is a fan.

  • Far out,no competition amongst the artists here!Very cool!

  • @mediacritic Wow! Interesting fact! I know Zeppelin said Heart did Rock and Roll better than they!!

  • Back in the 80's I saw Heart 3 times the last one at Shoreline Amp in Redwod City Ca, they sang Rock and Rock and Ted Nugent was on the guitar. I would love to see them again they are an amazing live band.

  • The world best Zep Cover band!!

Anne can sing so exact way like Mr. Plant did, Amazing! The early Van Halen did Zep covers also but .

  • loved Heart when they covered zepp! the only other group that can cover zepp to a T is Great White.

  • Ann is like a female version of Robert plant good vocals

  • Love Anne and Heart and agree with all the superlatives. But imagine sitting in that "Song Remains the Same" concert and getting an opening like Zep gave- awesome piece of rock history

  • "wonderful!!

    I love the bugle call at 2.01 - 2.05 :)"

Yes. It's called "Reveille." Here, it's played as harmonics, which means that each string is damped with a free finger at exactly one-half (or one-third, etc.) of its effective length as it's being plucked. Very technically challenging to do at this speed during a live performance.

  • Greatest Zep cover band ever.

  • The only version of Rock & Roll that comes even remotely close to as entertaining as Led Zeppelin's. What vocals on Ann Wilson. AMAZING. Greatest female rock vocalist of all time. Sorry, Janis.

  • i think it's a close call .. Janis Joplin was apparently (from what i read) Robert Plant's inspirations.. and Ann Wilson clearly like Led Zeppelin.. so i'd have to go with Janis on this one.. However They are both amazing singers!!

  • I read somewhere that someone said Heart could make a very good living as a Led Zepplin tribut band and its true! Ann can sing some of the Led Zep songs that Robert can no longer sing. I saw Page/Plant in '94. When they did Black Dog, there were parts of it Robert didnt even sing. Heart is still going strong and still touring. Go see them while you can.

  • With howling like that, the chia-hair can be forgiven. Bravo!

  • Looks like May 28, 1982

Less than two years before Zep themselves played Westfallenhalle.

Doesn't have the charm of 70's versions, but still not bad. Never was a huge fan of Carmassi.

    Thanks for posting.

  • i like carmassi :D

  • 1982...Two years BEFORE Zep played?

Zep disbanded after Bonzo died in 1980.

Maybe I understood your comment wrong.

  • the westfalenhalle is a great location for concerts of any kind of music specially rock music is awesome to enjoy in this great venue.dortmund is always worth it for bands to come and rock the audience is always great and fantastic and loud i compare the westfalenhalle sometimes with the Madison square garden in NYC

  • They do this better than Zep does/did.

  • the bass player used to be in Firefall

  • WOW!!!!!

  • Probably the only Led Zeppelin cover i've seen that gives the song Justice

  • Wow. Great performance. Denny Carmassi was a huge drummer.

  • Whoa....two chicks who knew how to rock your asses off !!! They dont make 'em like this anymore.

  • I saw Heart two weeks ago and they can still rock your ass off!!!

  • damn straight!

  • Howard L. gave the band Heart a Special Chemistry during his reign as Lead Guitar.... He had class and talent!! Used to love it when he would come out on stage and play a song with his "Mini" Les Paul.....

  • ok first of all its called a les paul jr. and second of all he wasnt the lead guitarist roger fisher was their lead guitarist howie was the 2nd lead and rhythm him and nancy would switch roles a lot and he and nancy would switch off being the keyboardist too and if you dont believe me look it up

  • If they'll play again Zep on the coming tour this year, I hope it'll be this one. Awesome!!!

  • Wow! Fantastic! One of the songs I didn't seen from this show. Thank you!

  • Cool to see them do this live on video, I don't think I ever have lol. Thanks :)
