I remember when I was a kid, I used to be able to roll jump from the blue sage to the yellow sage. It was pretty difficult to pull off, but once I mastered it I could do it almost every time. You had to be in the perfect position, and would need to spin kick but it saved a ton of time since you could skip over the blue platform part completely. Can't do it anymore though, I just tried on the Collection for PS3 haha.

@TheGraic I confirmed this trick is only possible on the original release (also the save warp from the beginning of the citadel to the robot fight). I did this run on the greatest hits version, which is why I was never able to do it. They also fixed the flut flut skip in snowy mountains.

I'm pretty sure any re-release is going to contain these fixes as well. If you want to run this game, you need the original black label. Once I tried these on that version, I did them immediately.

@GNJ7713 In some games you can save anywhere, but when you load, it's at a specific point (i.e. not where you saved). This can be used to save time while backtracking.

yah id say i can do it in about 2 hours without collecting all of the power cells. But technically you dont beat the game without collecting all of them. This is my favorite game of all time.

@freakzilla100 Not as many during the run compared to the month or so after finishing it and having shortcuts and faster power cells found. Really, I hope someone gets a recording setup together and improves this. I don't regret submitting it though, as it served its purpose in removing the previous video, which was about 40 minutes slower and segmented.
