  • Super sweet! Thanks for sharing.

  • bla bla blaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Addiaz is funny

  • how do u make a cast mold i chould copy my action figur guns

  • so you mean i can make a rubber mold of a rock? like if i found a rock i could put rubber on it and make a mold? so it would be a mold of a rock that i used rubber to make a rubber mold of the rock, that i just made a mold of? does that mean the mold would be made of rubber and the rock would be a rock. but the mold would be rubber?! BUT WHAT IF I FOUND A SMALL ROCK DO I USE RUBBER TO MAKE A MOLD OF A ROCK THEN CAST IT TO MAKE A MOLD OF IT!? oh wait. your using rubber. nm im allergic to rubber.

  • Just the answers I was looking for :)

  • you sound like peter griffin

  • what do you use to cast the objects?

  • that can make lego's also xD

  • That is pretty cool. Looks like a great project.

  • how much is the latex rubber and where can u get it

  • @nerfpistol I bought mine from amazon. The company that makes the latex is called Woodland Scenics.

  • do u use the same rubber t make the rubber object

  • how mch is it and where can u get it

  • do u just put the latex rubber on the object? ANd does it work on paper

  • @nerfpistol Yes, you just brush the latex right onto the object. I don't think it will work on paper though. It will just soak in.

  • so all you need for the mold is latex rubber?

  • @killzone474 , yes, to make the mold all you need is latex rubber. Be sure to wear gloves, some people are allergic to it. Woodland scenics makes the brand that I use.

  • one challenge is in leveling your latex molds for when you pour them (i.e. the bottom of the mold that sits on the table is not flat). Do you have any tricks for keeping them level, so the plaster pours flat?

  • @davethepak Put the mould in a bed of sand, making sure the sand is level. then pour in your plaster :)

  • I use silicon rubber right now to make my mold...the question I have about this is...does the back end dry smooth? the reason I ask this is becasue if its not level wiithe cast not turn our right? Im trying to decide if I want to get more Silicon ( costs alot) or this latex.

  • Yes, the back end of the mold turns out smooth, you can run a ruler across it to get it flat. Latex is pretty easy to work with, you don't pour it in, you have to brush it in. You should give at least one bottle a try to see if you like it. It works well for me, for making rock molds and stone walls and such.

  • One last question...have you ever uses UltraCal 30 Plaster? Is so how strong is it?

  • I am helping my 11yrd son do a diorama board for star wars and he want to use a trench toy that I have but is very old and from my child hood will the latex rubber affect a plastic mold in anyway and is it easy to clean off the original cast?

  • I think it will be ok to use the latex on it. But I am wondering about the complexity of the model. If there are a lot of angular shapes, nook and crannies then it could be difficult to do.

  • its mainly block type shaped like ice but there are a few curves to it its more than 12in. long and more than 8in. wide

  • I've re-molded some stuff that is vacuformed package/ sealed, like chooch Int bridge abutments, you have to fill around the plastic so it doesn;t bulge to bad when you fill um, but the bulging really gives it a nice feel of an old and worn out abutment.

I've never got into the making molds, but thanks to this video, I'm going to look into this one.

  • Would wax paper work?

  • hmmm, good question. I think you could probably make wax paper work very well. Just set up a little jig with pieces of wood. Give it a try is what I say!

  • Thanks for the easy-to-follow instructions.

  • You are very welcome!

  • This will be great for my huge castle project

  • NIce! Send me pics when it is completed or even as you progress with it. WOuld love to post the pics to my website (stormthecastle)

  • im guessing u have braces

  • how long should they dry for?

  • It will set in about an hour and you can work with it. Complete curing will take over night.

  • Where can you find Latex Rubber? Would you be able to find it at any commercial retailers? Great video by the way.

  • I am not sure where you can get it. I get it online at amazon. most hobby shops have it. Craft stores like Michaels and AC Moore might have it. The company that makes the brand I buy is called Woodland Scenics. that might help in a search.

  • Thanks!

  • you can also get it at hobby town in the railroad section for the exact same latex rubber epic fanasty was using for 14.99 and you can buy the black rock molds in the video for 4.99

  • lol the mold looked like a cake

  • you have a kind of george carlin ring to your voice, are you from jersey?

anyways, great video, I made a Dwarven pub using this tecnique

  • Nice! A dwarven pub? Must be cool!

Massachusetts, I defintely have a new england/boston thing going on in my voice. People mention it all the time.

  • hi i would like to make a mould of a ww2 pill box but i dont have the object to mould around i just want to make a mould and then fill it with plaster of paris and then i have the product but i dont no how

    can you help me

    thanks good video 5*

  • Thanks for watching my vids :) To make the pill box you first have to make one! I say carve it out of balsa wood then you have something to pour the latex onto and make a mold out of. So you can mold lots of them. You could probably even make it out of styrofoam and use that to make the mold.

  • Don't wear latex gloves if you're allergic to latex rubber, ha ha.

Latex allergies are rare, but I'm glad you did mention them for safety purposes.

  • hey, is plaster strong? I've never worked with it before. I'm making a a miniature waterfall.

  • Plaster is not really very strong, its not like rock, it can be a bit brittle and is prone to crack and break if you handle it too roughly.

  • plaster of paris is strong to work with...great for scupturing

  • Technically you could make a mold of your face but some people are allergic to latex rubber so it's risky. I think they put some kind of a covering on people before they apply latex. Im not sure. But I wouldn't try it with latex!

  • cooll man can u make a mold of your face ??????

that could be cool poke holes for the eyes and nose ant mouth and stuff

  • You are the coolest adult i know!!! O__O
