some one plz answer-i have this camera and i love it but there is something wrong with it. wen i try to zoom in it focuses instead of zooming in or out-plz answer
I have one of these camcorders and I'm not to sure if I like it. The 25 degree banked lens is more annoying for me than comfortable. Plus it records in the wrong aspect ratio. The video is pretty much crystal clear, though. And the microphone is extremely sensitive, which can be really good. But for me it picks up every little breath I take, so I sound like I'm having an asthma attack. I think the camera is good, especially for the price. But I think it's better to spend the extra money.
@RiaBekahPixieLott I'm sure it'll get the job done, but you get what you pay for. For under $100 (current retail price) this Samsung is a good camcorder, but if you're willing to spend more, you can get something much better.
@destroysociety79 Samsung camcorders do not have good audio. The sound will probably be very distorted if you take it to a concert. In my experience, Canon and Sony camcorders have the best audio quality, and can handle loud sounds without distorting. Of course they both cost more than Samsung, but you can get a good deal on a used or refurbished model.
its a good cam but the sensor leaves alot to be desired it seemed either out of focus or alot of noise saturation in the image itself but the mic pics up well
I don't think so, but I'm not sure. Final Cut is designed to work with professional video cameras, and doesn't support a lot of the formats used by these consumer-grade camcorders.
PEOPLE! make sure to know what you are doing before posting.
It is clear here that the camera is constantly trying to set the right WB. It is best to manualy set the WB to the light you are in. Depending on the indoor light set, FLUORECENT or Tungsten. In this video a quick click to the menu - scene - fluorecent would have giving the right color tone.
Ok?
I will get one of these for the band but in HD . My HMC150 is too $ and heavy to carry around.
Yes, setting manual white balance is a very useful trick for cameras which have poor auto white balance. I have to do it on my JVC GZ-MS100 because with auto white balance, the video comes out far too orangey under incandescent lighting. But there are better camcorders out there with properly functioning auto white balance, such as the Canon FS200. I have one and its auto white balance does fine under all lighting conditions.
There are 5 quality settings. TV Super Fine, TV Fine, TV Normal, Web Fine and Web Normal. In the TV quality, it's in 16:9 widescreen. In the Web setting, it's in 4:3. I just got it too. There is also an option which turns widescreen on or off.
DUDE it has a lot of features.. go to MENU- scene- and adjust your white balance buddy! Auto WB is not a good thing. always keep WB in mind and set it to the light you are in. The light on that store is horryble for video. There is a setting for that..... Fluorecent

The Kodak Zx1 and this camcorder are in different categories so you cannot directly compare them. The Kodak is a small pocket-sized handheld camera, and this Samsung is a conventional camcorder with a flip-out screen and a full hand grip. The Samsung's optical zoom and image stabilization will help you get better footage than the Kodak, but please try it out and compare it to other camcorders such as JVC and Canon before you decide on it just because of its low cost. You get what you pay for!
Sony is the only brand I know of still making camcorders with night vision... but not in their cheap models. You would be better off getting a good used Sony MiniDV or Digital8 tape camcorder with NightShot.
I didn't like this Samsung camcorder at all. You have to hold it at a strange angle, the video footage is dark and has a blueish tint, and it saves video files in an odd format and resolution that may not work correctly with many video editing programs.
On this channel I only post video directly recorded by the camera. I don't like to use any conversion or re-encoding because it reduces the quality. There are better camcorders available for around the same price, so shop around and don't just go for this Samsung because it's cheap. You get what you pay for!
Which part of the Description tells you how to make it widescreen ?

Whoa that thing's got an awesome picture quality! Did you take this video before you bought it or was it already on there?
Haha that's awesome how you can do that. Usually when i try out cameras in the store it doesn't let me videotape.
This may be a cheap camera, but it's got an excellent picture and sound quality.
Does it take AA batteries? I think all cameras should use AA batteries, instead of big expensive power pak thingy.
wilkes85 2 years ago
@wilkes85
No, it doesn't take AA bateries. LOL
there is a tuny batery pack that lasts 160 minutes that needs charging

Compared to the other camcorders this one isn't very good. It seems to have problems with the light and also the picture looks very "cold".
Also I don't like how this camcorder looks.
DrCassette 2 years ago
This is a cheap camcorder and you can certainly tell by the video! Compared to all the others, it is darker and has a strange blue tint.

Is the Kodak zx1 better than this camera?
Or has this one a better zoom?
The camera would be used for filming footage of birds.
