i had this problem with another game, i don't know if it works on shift, but try plugging the wheel on a high speed usb (2.0) computers now come with slow usb ports and fast ones....
haha dude , got to options, controls or i dont know lol, and where is like steering thing, switch that to pro, so it will not take wheel back himself lol :D hope that helps
I have the same wheel ans it does the same thing. WTF where the developpers thinking about? Theres is no option to invert (have it the right way) FFB in the game!!! Worst driving game ever because of this.
yes i can explain that for you that is when the car runs fast you turn the steering and the hevie waight of the car go from a side to the other side...
This also does this with my wheel (Logitech Formula Force EX)
I thought it was trying to straighten the wheels up, but because in high speed you lose control. I have no idea how to set my wheel up, I just wish when playing NFS it was the same as playing rFactor.
yeh mine used to do this too! LOOK CLAW!!!! ok what u want to do is try and turn of advance forcefeedback settings, let it be, and just hold ur steering wheel, dont let it go.... I even let it go b/c I drift on a momo XD!
---- Yes that effect of force feedback is really anoying and lots of times make you loose control totally, but doesnt just happen on nfs shift. What i also suffer on nfs shift is that first the wheel feels like too soft, but then when i try to make a complete turn of it it feels really really hard. DUnno, i have a really big mess with the momo drivers...
Try reversing your FFB effects, either in the game or in the logitech profiler. There should be a tick for "Reverse FFB", or then you should be able set a negative value for it. That's what usually causes an effect like that. The more the wheel turns the more it wants to center itself, and if the effects work the wrong way, it starts to pull the wheel one side or another.
Intreresting! In detail's please about settings! =) I have experienced all the possible options in both independent OS's - XP and Windows 7 but nothing..
The game is working correctly. It's trying to turn the wheel to make tyres to point straigth. But your wheels FFB is too slow and it's lagging behind.
I was referring more to the FFB in your wheel. The motors are cheap, they are relatively strong but slow. This means that they can't react as fast as the game, so they are often lagging a bit behind what is happening in the game.
This is exactly what Ive been experiencing. With or without any assists. I've played many race sims, and this game just doesn't deliver. Returned the game the next day, I purchased it. I'm just wondering how this game got such glowing reviews, and not one mention of the bugs, glitches, bizarre handling, and missing damage in the ps3 version.
I haven't played Shift yet, but it sucks how companies don't seem to perform any QA these days. It's cheaper to let us do it and then rush a patch out.
Makes me long for the days of my N64, where the only real game-changing bug I ever encountered was not being able to pick up a level trophy in Silicon Valley, meaning I couldn't get the game's secret level. Which I could get with a level select code. And was crap!
And how can you ask for realism by playing NFS Shift? Go play IRacing pal...

i think that's supposed to happen when you let go of the wheel...
accelerating that fast will wobble your car and spin you off the track...
logitech momo racing wheel makes it as if its real, so accelerate that fast in real life w/o holding the steering wheel will spin you off the street

I had this problem first on my G25 and i fixed it!
Just turn every "Driving-Help-Bullsh*t" off! No Steering Assit, so break Assist...no nothing! Then it works just perfect!

Do you know the reason of lag? I have more than 70FPS at all.

They are more likely to make a new game, which will bring money than finalize the previous one.

That's what helpers do. They're made to stable the car, and you can't turn all of them off completely.
