i bet you're first in line to lambaste anything you disagree with as a "conspiracy theory". or the first to forget about a war if a democrat is in the white house.
@Rightleftparidigm did you know its really hot on Venus because of greenhouse gases? also, I dont think you want the temperature of the planet to be 120 degrees so arguing that the earth has been hot before is kind of irrelevant. the point isnt that the earth is going to be destroyed, the point is that its going to be an unhappy place for us humans to live.
@Rightleftparidigm The sun is ~3% brighter now than in the Cambrian(that's ENORMOUS) and they still had a 10 degrees C higher temperature. The effect of CO2 is massive.
Americans 93 % none union and our 7% union work force we must all unite for liveable wages and healthcare. Don’t be spellbound by the talking media heads of the unscrupulous companies and Gov officials who indirectly work for them. And are trying to put a wedge between us None of them are hurting are they. Support only fair trade! And USA products. Lets fill our coffers again. With taxes made by product's made here. Go on line to Made in USA.
Here where in Canada they're trying to kill the unions too. You know once they do they will slash wages for everyone; they'll say the whole time oh, we just want to save you money on dues, we want to pay you as much as we can; we want to create (slave wage) jobs.
At EMD here they sold the company to Cat, gave them huge tax breaks. Cat turns around and offers the workers a 55 % pay cut, 60 % benefit cut, and 100 % pension cut right after X-mass!
@sph1ncter If co2 is the only so called pollutant than yes it would be very very safe to live by.
My green house is kept at 1200ppm co2 and i am in there 8 hours a day.Just in case for those who don't know co2 is at 350 ppm to 400ppm outside varied to location time of year ect. ect.
The koch brothers are engineers who thru research beleive voluntary exchange, free markets and less government allocating peoples capital raise people standards of living.
Its odd how they are demonized because they produce things we use. Lawyers dont polllute, bankers dont pollute but they also dont give us a damn thing we need to survive in a world where people have incentive.
Logical result oriented Engineers vs Lawyers who win based on other people judging them which isnt math its social.
Koch Brothers are filthy, greedy fucking scumbags that have stolen much more than their fair share from their fellow citizens, but have been smart enough to manipulate the fucking idiot teabaggers and halfwits into believing the enemy is their fellow workers and not the sneaky scumbag banksters and profiteers that have brought the economy to its knees with their wreckless schemes and illegal scams.
@taxed2mydeath The tea party is against the bankers unlike the liberals and neo cons that voted to bail them out. The problem is fox and the neo cons have hijacked the tea party.
is funding from George Soros ok then? Tides Center? John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation? Atlantic Philanthropies? Monsanto? Rockefeller? All those are ok, right? it seems dirty money is any money that doesn't support your agenda.
@taxed2mydeath you are retarded...Koch promotes liberty and small government...they support less govt. spending and therefore less taxes...maybe you would like that
So, a CEO, a tea party member, and a union worker are all sitting at a table when a plate with a dozen cookies arrives. Before anyone else can make a move, the CEO reaches out to rake in eleven of the cookies. When the other two look at him in surprise, the CEO locks eyes with the tea party member. "You better watch him," the executive says with a nod toward the union worker. "He wants a piece of your cookie."
A CEO (call him David Koch), a talk show host (call him Glenn Beck), & a talk show darling (call her Sarah Palin), are sitting at a table with a unionized public employee, & a teabagger. On the table there are 12 cookies. Koch reaches across, takes 11 cookies, gives 2 to Beck & 2 to Palin before getting up & leaving the restaurant (without paying his bill). Beck & Palin then look at the teabagger & say, "Watch out for that union guy, he’ll leave you with nothing but crumbs."
You fail to realize it is our monetary policy and lack of tariffs on cheap goods that has caused out sourcing. Making Union jobs cost to much and companies cannot compete.public sector Unions drain the economy because they make more than private workers who ultimately pay them. Unions are OK but if you demand to much you sometimes put yourself out of work. (Detroit)
@MrAgnostic1 ummm no koch brothers are the main donators to the american heritage foundation which organizes the tea party. unlike Becks idiotic theories Cenks are supported by evidence.
The KOCH brothers must be stopped... They are trying to: decriminalize drugs, legalize gay marriage, repeal the Patriot Act, end the police state and cut defense spending.
We need regulations to keep this planet from completely going to Hell. We need to hire people to ensure these regulations are being kept (wow, more jobs created....hmmm) The sooner people realize that these bastards are running the World and hiring Church leaders and GOP Right Wing nut jobs to continue to enslave everyone, the sooner we can all be happy.

Just because the Koch bros are anti something doesn't mean it's good. They are anti Cap and Trade for selfish financial reasons but that doesn't make it a good or effective way to fight pollution. If anything I think it will be another mechanism for the people to get robbed blind. Think: Bankers
@sterlinguini Taxes on energy would also work but it's hard to make it so that it doesn't hurt small business. Instead by far the most effective way would be to close tax loopholes on corporations and their wealthy owners. That's where the real money is: in the holes lobbyists poked in the US tax code for 30 yrs. That amount of cash could pay for colonizing the universe. Elites are stealing astronomical sums from the system while they make us fight each other for crumbs like teachers benefits.
I think it is so funny how good the Kochs brothers would look in Nazi SS uniforms. I mean, they look like Nazi's in that photograph you showed.
Love your point about how they only are inviting the "Rich" to the meetings in CO and CA.
Look, they know as much about freedom and prosperity as a Nazi: they're greedy, their evil, and the faster we put them in the poor house, the more free and the more prosperous and healthy the citizens will be. Long live the Republic!!!
this is all left wing media. the Knoch Brothers are for our way of do business not destroying our way of life like the government and the left wing nuts.
The Koch bros are the incarnations of greed, self interest and parasitism. And they manage to make people buy into thie garbage. To use the words of Mike Malloy, you are Americans, you buy garbage...
I love how each party sees so clearly how politics is bought for the other side but never their own. Democrates see Republicans are bought and Obama really wants change. Republicans see how Democrats are bought and think McCain really is a patriot. The reality is that both Democrates and Republicans are idiots, and politics are always bought by their very nature. Research "public choice theory".
@FrameXFrameFilms Yeah sorry for being cynical. I see gov't as a result of incentives and focus on technologies to change these incentives such as seasteading. org and my own startup I hope to build at judge. me (see news.ycombinator.co m/item?id=2189849 )

@szatmar666 yeah sorry i got a little confused there. i was thinking about ayn rand. they did business in the soviet union. and weren´t fans of the system.

@Slave2Reason Environmentalist do go after Monsanto and encourage autonomy for American citizens...that includes addressing the resources that keep the money flow that is not to that end. Optimal interdependence allows that everyone benefits not the constant outselling of jobs, ruin the environment, and otherwise diminish the quality of our.

This guy is a blowhard who, unfortunately, figured out how to use a green screen.
His claim that the Koch brothers are against environmental regulations for polluting the government is completely contrived. And not everyone agrees that a carbon tax is a good thing. I'm pretty certain that many tea partiers don't agree with having a carbon tax. Inviting poor people to Palm Springs? What the fuck is he even talking about? There are also plenty of arguments against environmental regulations.
@sushanalone, Interesting point, but it's still only a game. I've played games like that but I don't think you can compare it to real life. Real life has consequences which involve other people. Understanding that is a big part of growing up. A mature adult should be able to control their desires when they will have substantial negative effects on others. To pursue them when you know people will be hurt is insane and imo downright evil.

i guess people do NOT know what capitalism really IS????!!!!! we have become a NATION of freebies and give me for nothing! GO TO WORK! GET A JOB! @bigveeayking It's stupid to put a malicious twist on the Koch's activities as if they are acting criminally by running a successful business and protecting their interests from the onslaught of the government wrecking ball. It's the productive output of men like the Koch brothers who keep this civilization from collapsing while malicious liberals attempt to destroy every last remnant of success and greatness still in existence. Industrialists are GOOD and environmentalists are EVIL.
@iflyboats Our great promise is to becoming the great Republic of government for the people by the people, what part of the small personal interests of the Kock industries is supporting that? In fact when we say and think things like "this is a capitalist country" we are repeating the mantra of the elite and not our constitution.
My country when right and when wrong to be put right, and that is what we are all wanting to do. Whats so great about ruining "Habius Corpus" that was a Bush gift.
As to the Global Warming BS, look at what how the adoring fans of China in the West, stay silent on, not only China's horrible Human, and Animal rights record, but especially their environmental record. They are polluting like there is no such thing as Anthropogenic Global Warming, and the silence from Alvin Gore and his Green Global Warming Chipmonks is quite revealing. Hypocrites? Liars? Maddoffs? Ask yourselves why the silence on the top polluter?
maybe I'm stupid but... what exactly do million/billion-aires gain from having less tax? I mean... they already have more money then they could spend in their lives... why exactly do they need further discounts?

All of this trouble started in or around 1965 with this. The government should get out of business, the government is holding back business. The business waist money because of regulations. The government should sell the power plants to private business they can run it cheaper.
Some how, most people believed it. They put pressure on the government to deregulate. If you asked some of people to prove it. The best any one say was the business know tricks to do it cheaper. bullshit.

@kazekage321414 Ok, just stop right there. Stop with this false image of conservatives I always hear from the left. Conservatives are not against those things per se. We're against gov't intervention and higher taxes. Look at how well the social programs like medicaid, social security,et al turned out. They're nearly insolvent. The money has been borrowed upon and spent, And you want them to run health care? WTF? Really? Don't be an idiot. You can't trust DC. Repub or dem.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@kazekage321414 Wait a minute, you can't call DC a democracy. It's a representative republic. And corporations aren't an aristocracy. No one is forced to buy a corporations product. And there are numerous alternatives to one corp. over another. A corporation exists to make profit and to grow. It gives people a product and provides jobs. What does the gov't do? Enact taxes on everything that moves, spends, borrow, and then spends some more. What a great model for business and politics, huh?
@skidvicious71 Have you ever tried to fuel your car with anything other than gasoline? How about powering your house with something other than that provided by the corporations? Do you really have a choice? What does the government do?
Do you drive on roads? Do you flyinto airports? Do you use GPS? Who paid for all those roads? Who built the airports, radars, and air transportation system. Who put the GPS satelites into orbit? All gov't projects.
@gwheyduke Well, thats just about the silliest argument I've seen in a long time. There are dozens of corps that provide gas, I can heat my home with oil from a local guy, gas, or wood for that matter. The rest of your nonsense is moot since gov't + contractors were the only ones even capable of undertaking such massive and technically challenging projects. Whats next? The Hoover dam?
Why don’t explain why SEC only fined the person that ripped off mortgages to the tune of 500 Million was just given a fine of 67 Million no jail time NO restitution . Is it not a democrat in the white house now. Is not barney frank not a democrat that told bush to go pound sand when he wanted to know what was going on fanny may and Freddy Mack in his first term. So get off your high horse there is more then enough shit to go around.
Household Settles for $484 Million - [Household International and its subsidiaries, Household Finance Corporation and Beneficial Corporation - HSBC Group] settled - fraud and Sub-prime lawsuits in 50 states in 2002-2003.

At EMD here they sold the company to Cat, gave them huge tax breaks. Cat turns around and offers the workers a 55 % pay cut, 60 % benefit cut, and 100 % pension cut right after X-mass!

@UnionMadeMaid
You forgot Bernanke made all of those cookies.
(Detroit)

Just because the Koch bros are anti something doesn't mean it's good. They are anti Cap and Trade for selfish financial reasons but that doesn't make it a good or effective way to fight pollution. If anything I think it will be another mechanism for the people to get robbed blind. Think: Bankers
sterlinguini 1 year ago
@sterlinguini Taxes on energy would also work but it's hard to make it so that it doesn't hurt small business. Instead by far the most effective way would be to close tax loopholes on corporations and their wealthy owners. That's where the real money is: in the holes lobbyists poked in the US tax code for 30 yrs. That amount of cash could pay for colonizing the universe. Elites are stealing astronomical sums from the system while they make us fight each other for crumbs like teachers benefits.

His claim that the Koch brothers are against environmental regulations for polluting the government is completely contrived. And not everyone agrees that a carbon tax is a good thing.

What a great model for business and politics, huh?
skidvicious71 1 year ago
@skidvicious71 Have you ever tried to fuel your car with anything other than gasoline? How about powering your house with something other than that provided by the corporations? Do you really have a choice? What does the government do?
Do you drive on roads? Do you flyinto airports? Do you use GPS? Who paid for all those roads? Who built the airports, radars, and air transportation system. Who put the GPS satelites into orbit? All gov't projects.
