Hondas are worthless. You want to invest in something worth while... By a DSM. The S4 is great, i got one... but if youre gonna waste your money on a civic for 5 grand.. you can pick up an eclipse for the same price already set up to run 12's or faster. I wish honda did 4 wheel drive and turbo's, i suppose their market is different. its still fun to see a 16k car trying to keep up with a 70k car, honda are good value for money. i took an rs6 out a few years back on my 21st bday, it was immense, the power is all over the range, brakes are sharp as the sterring and more luxury than you need, lovely motors. The new rs4 is SIK!
Even if the R had a turbo and maybe 300-320 bhp, he would not beat a stock RS4.Ever driven one? There´s such a high torque all over the rev and that´s the more important thing for a heavy weight car like the RS4.It´s not possible to produce that torque with a 4 cylinder egine and ONE turbo.And on the other hand:how do you want to bring that power to the street with a front wheel drive??And remember:It´s very easy to push the 2.7 Biturbo to 450-600 bhp.
I guarantee, an integra r with a little tuning to 260-280bhp would eat the rs alive, guaranteed, its the close ratio's and very light body that allows it to dust a lot of more powerful cars. if the ctr had a turbo, i doubt the rs wld have won that clearly.
if i was driving the ctr, id be over revving it too, just to try keeping up a bit. obviuosly the audi was going to eat it. everyone remember the ctr is only a 2.0 ltr 16valve n/a 200bhp, the beast is a 4.2 v8 twin turbo, 440bhp, mybe 380, either way, the civic did well i think. only honda produce over 100bhp per litre, and bmw, porsche and a couple others, but honda are the best value for money, hands down.
What about the EVO MR FQ 400? 200 BHP per ltr, bog standard. Type Rs have good power in VTEC range but not before. But only produce about 145 lb ft of torque even in VTEC revs. Torque is needed to accelerate like an audi RS4, EVO things like that. And turbos give shitloads of torque.
