  • It was actually quite controversial because it showed a little too much boob...

  • what can i say - Patricia Roc was so beautiful x

  • She was wicked through and through in this classic! Perfect actress! Thanks for postingh this gem.x

  • i wanna watch this now one day oh one day i will

  • you call that cleavage?

  • love this film x

  • patricia roc was so beautiful.

  • The remake, which came out in 1983 and had Faye Dunaway, John Gielgud, Alan Bates, and some other really good actors, could have been a great movie. Instead it was a major disappointment that was actually barely released in the U.S. Further proof that Michael Winner as director or screenwriter was 99 times out of 100 a loser during his sorry career. Peace.

  • "Great movie! realy scared me when I saw it as a 10yr old

  • @Grifiki

    Me too!!!!

  • As far as this movie was concerned; at the time, it was not allowed to be shown in the most parts of the United States. Why? The lead actress showed for too much cleavage. However, this movie is listed amongst some of the greatest classic movie ever made, in the country of England.

Interestingly enough, where the US found showing too much breast offensive, England found too much leg offensive. As this movie was banned in the US, in 1945. Betty Grable's "the Pin-up Girl" was banned in England.

  • the first airing of a couple in the same bed was Lucille Ball and Rick Ricardo, in 1949. The was before the TV censors got into the mix, in the early 1950's. Interestingly enough, the Brady Bunch had Mike and Carol in the same bed.. they also had 6 kids who all shared a bathroom that, apparently, didn't have a toilet. Ity wasn'tintil the early 1970's before censors began to realize, it was okay to have a toilet in a bathroom. First interracial kiss? Kirk and O'hura on Star Trek

  • 1:11 had some pretty good acting right there.

  • this trailer sucks cow shit!

  • Lool, she looks like Vivien Leigh and that guy there looks like Rhett Butler from Gone with the Wind. But I guess at that time all actors and actresses looked like that...

  • she bitch slapped that bitch

  • and yet the statue of David was acceptable i supose??!? lol

  • C134V4G3!!!

  • Both actresses Margaret Lockwood and Patricia Roc are sooo pretty. I love their eyes the most.

    The actors are handsome too.

    I like the costumes.

  • filled with boredom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol but there are a couple of cat fights in it.

  • Too much cleavage my ass!

  • well.... this was in the 40's. "sex" in movies was a lot more tactful. Hell, parents even had separate beds in the movies till, like, the 60's.

  • In Fact the First Televised airing of a couple sleeping in the same bed was the Flinstones! Thats right, a cartoon was the thing that crossed the line.

  • The first live-action couple to sleep in the same bed was The Munsters, though.

  • well it was the 40's lol

  • ...the basically told me the whole movie in this trailer.

  • This film looks dreadful: this could have been the trailer Trevor Howard and the suburban lady watch at the theater in "Brief Encounter"!!!!

  • damn, these old trailers give away everything. they ruined the movie for me!

  • they still do

  • that was red flagged for too much cleavage? back then, i suppose, but these 21st century standards and practices? I had to strain my eyes looking for whatever it was she was flagged for in the place

  • I don't see

  • Yup Marina, I see cleavage! ;)

  • AAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! That's why I did a search for it.

  • I wonder if the original "un- cleaved" version" is still available, and able to export to this side of the pond. ? but then the US is still a bit of a prude in odd ways. Thanks Puritan's !!

  • I thought it was the ONLY version available in the UK!

  • @lonewolfsinger

Ha ha ,you are so right....

  • Patricia Roc is so beautiful---you wouldn't happen to have any movies of her that you could post, do you???

  • she is indeed gorgeous. Alas, I don't really have any of her starring roles...

  • @CrispinFlora

And James Mason . gorgeous... marvellous.... masculine. Sigh!!!

  • Argh...this was on TCM tonight and I forgot to DVR it!!

  • Cleavage.

  • Michael Rennie is the guy who played Klatuu in The Day the Earth Stood Still....man I'm getting better at this even in the 50s era of movies....

  • The slap at 1:12 is priceless.

  • Fraut with danger!

  • That bitch has a wicked cleavage, I tells ye what!

  • Margaret Lockwood - The Bitch from Hell, cruel, selfish, twisted - met her match in James Mason - turned all Nicey Nicey in the end - but as usual - too little too late lol. One of the all time British Classics.

  • forerunner to eastenders.....lol margaret lockwood, a truly great actress....

  • CLEAVAGEEEEEE

  • yes that bitch is wicked i would watch it

  • what? was this movie really popular or something?

  • it was popular because of the Cleavage in this movie.. and aroud the same time we got this term CLEAVAGE.. And I am not Kidding :)

  • Yeah i heard about it from the same video dude :)) that asian chick is awesome

  • "Cleavage in geology is from 1816. The sense of "cleft between a woman's breasts in low-cut clothing" is first recorded 1946, when it was defined in a "Time" magazine article as the "Johnston Office trade term for the shadowed depression dividing an actress' bosom into two distinct sections" [Aug. 5]."

    Indeed you're correct.

  • "In the case of the Time Magazine story the film in question was called The Wicked Lady and originated in Britain.

The censors decided it was just too racy for American eyes and the English film makers re-shot the offending scenes cleaving the film into two slightly different editions, one for each side of the pond."

  • What an evil woman. The actress has done a good job - maes us love to hate Barbara.

  • Wicked indeed! But we LOVE her that way! She's fabulous!

  • love this film, margaret is such a bitch

  • Patricia is one Austrian :) i loving^^

  • Patricia Roc was amazing. So beautiful. I really like 'Millions like us'.

But Margaret was sooooooo eee-vil in this!!

  • that's why I love her. This film is amaaaaaazing!

  • I love Patricia Roc & this film.Could the whole film be downloaded please? The best ever!

  • margaret lockwood very sexy

  • How could she be surprised when she got the slap? Like she didn't deserve it. LOL. She was one badass woman, wasn't she!
