  • i have this little guy right now his still drinking WOW his really thirsty

  • so when does the bird stop drinking?? does it run out of the fluid or something?

  • @renegade3355 When the head dries out, for whatever reason. In theory, as long as the felt on the head is still wet, you're still in the game.

  • @renegade3355

Pretty much this is what happens.

    1) The head of the bird needs to be wet

    2) Then the water evaporates

    3) When it evaporates, temperature in the head goes down, which lowers pressure

    4) This causes the red liquid (usually methylene chloride which is also know as dichloromethane to rise to the head)

    5) This will eventually cause the bird to tip into the water, making the head wet with water again

This is a very simplified version, but is fine for the most part.

  • 'saturate this ridiculous thing's head' lol.

  • Here's #2 for Jan: it's not water; it's methylene chloride.

  • lol *snaps and kills everyone in sight*

  • its not water inside its methyl alchohol or methylene chloride

  • yeah yeah. I don't even remember saying water in the video. Can't be fucked watching it again. But thanks for the repeated "who gives a fuck" updates on the chemical content of my long dead desktop novelty item and I uploaded a video of two years ago.

Anyone else wanna tell me it's not water in there? Let's see how many we can get in 2010. I want at least 5 a month.

  • hahaha relax bud it still helped on my project thanks man

  • Aaah, school project. That's probably why so many people are correcting me. It's probably a fairly popular school experiment. Gotcha!

  • it's not water

  • Is it so powerful it will click on my computer keyboard?

  • Sorry Homer. It won't. But it's so powerful it'll stop you typing and keep you staring at it all day.

  • lol i still remember that homer scene

  • A nice presentation. Well enough done. Yes, indeed, NO WATER is in the duck; it is either methylene chloride, or it is old fashioned ether, both of which have low boiling point/high vapour pressure.

The more exotic all-glass birds are definitely filled with coloured ether. I know because I broke one of mine by fumbling the thing. They are fragile, those all-glass birds. I will have one to show at my account before too long. I will offer tips and some tricks.

  • i swear its not water in the bottom abdonam bit....i swear its methylene...that has a evaporating point of 40'c...its not water :S.....lovely video...soo many flaws lol

  • the mistrys of the "sipping duck"..........i swear its a dipping bird lool...nice video mate

  • nice but i also like how chucky lives in brooker house!!!!!!!!!!

  • Has brookers been killed by chucky yet?

It's only a matter of time...

  • Nice product placement ;P
