touggie2000, you are such an unfortunate person. I have credibility in various circles ghetto and academic. I have seen things that gives me a very good opportunity to make an informed opinion. I have seen people party, play and work in the same stance these people are juxstaposing in..I did it for a while didn't buy it..I call their bluff and I call yours. Anger is a secondary emotion. Jamaican values super-imposed on a society that is quite dissimilar to it has consequences...doh tote feelings
all di explaining for what?? i just ask what kinda ah question yuh asking because what difference do it mek if its jamaica or trinidad..social problems are social problems no matter where in the world..of course you would ask a stupid question by dissing jamaica then try to back chat and try and sound all sophisticated and shit., please nobody tryna hear your sunday morning surmon. "super-imposed" what di rass?????
Who is this idiot boy claiming that I know one side of Trinidad? Where you was when General Grant was singing on a cooler in Princess Building grounds, or when Shabba Ranks hand out $USD1 bills, or when Bulls and Tooks walk through the savanah for the last time in School Panorama? Negro I was there as a youth, I witness it all, I am not some person who Mummy and Daddy who had them sheltered...fuck a Mummy and Daddy...I was out there and I witnessed it all.
Culture (of which music is a part) affects society please do some reading. Music is very powerful and it can influence perception, affect social trends, educate and inspire. Unborn children in the womb react to music when exposed to it. Refrain from emotion and listen to the message in my point. I am blaming the bankruptcy of other cultures, more or less for the destruction of essential values. Can anything positive come out of any form of music that glorifies violence, misogyny and drug abuse?
touggie do some reading, maybe then we can have a conversaton!
