What do you think why it wasn't possible in the 60ies? Were they right to fear a danger for the moral integrity of the youth, to say that the band had no artistic value and would cause only hysteria? ;-) By the way, did you know the following story I heard once? Afaik in the late 50es/early 60ies the Beatles wanted to see Dachau, but it was already evening, and the thorough german woman at the pay desk didn't want to let them in anymore, so they claimed to be jews. Crowned with success.
