  • @merilm1 - I remember that. It was pretty ballsy of Schwantz to jump on a strange bike and start on the front row. You must have had it set up pretty well. Thanks for posting.

  • Yes, in 1984 GNF Kevin road MY very fast 900 Ninja and started in my front row middle grid for the A Production, as I had crashed hard while practicing in endurance race day prior. After the race he had to disqualify himself, but Ulrich had already seen his talent, and the rest is history. Meril Moen

  • @EJ25RUN - You're right. I was at the Road Atlanta GNF in 1984 when Schwantz was "discovered" by John Ulrich (Valvoline/M4 Suzuki). Well, I discovered him too. I just didn't have any influence in the industry, lol. Schwantz was clearly a special rider.
