@He11buster actually there is kind of a reason for it. Like most of strange translation in early ff game, it's a pun based on french language. the french word "reine" means queen and is pronounced like the english word rain. Because in japanese the 'r' and 'l' are the same a possible understanding of the japanese name lenna is "reine" + a final 'a' since she's a princess and the king kind of died on the intro she is a sort of queen. I suppose the first translator drop the reference.

And VII was just terrible. But four was definitely the worst! I got a fan translated version, j2e, and it's much better. In the english translation of four, the translation was so whacked-out that they actually had COMPLETELY different names, some of them, and one of the final bosses was different!

I don't know man, after Woosley left the translations were atrocious for a while, case in point FFVII and Tactics while are both butchered beyond belief. I mean, "Helletic Hojo" and "This guy are sick" alone...

@RagtimeFoxy Yup. FF4 (2) on SNES was BUTCHERED. Still back then it was my favorite game. When I played the better versions I liked it even more. Remains my favorite game today. I bought it on GBA, DS and PSP. It must be the only game I've bought multiple times.

@LordMalice6d9 From what I've heard, Final Fantasy 6 is the Final Fantasy'sFavorite(of course also ff7, but well 90% of people played only FF7 and some ps2/3 ff which are inferior to the others). Final Fantasy 4 is great, the characters are really great...also the story is very interesting. Anyway I would suggest also FF2, is a great game too. It has a nice story and the characters are very nice too!(I suggest you Advance Version which has more stuffs than the Origins)

I think Syldra's a boy, because Faris says that they're like brothers. However, I still think of it as a 'her.' By the way, which buttons let you cast a spell on everyone??? It won't work on my emulator : ( I also can't pause, for some reason. Is it the R and L buttons? They work fine when I have to run from a battle...oh and by the way, I'm playing with a 360 controller. If anyone could help, that'd be really great. That 'multiple select' ability really works wonders. =D

after you select a spell and the hand points to a character press the direction toward that character and it should point to everyone (i think). same with casting spells on all enemies

Well if your in an area and your looking for blue magic that's annoying to get or hard. You have a good chance of getting it by turning everybody into blue mages but turning them back to their other classes afterwords.

Square in the 90's was no worse then Sega with their translations like calling the Chemists in Phantasy star I a first food shop and instead of Monomate and Donimate(forgot what they were supposed to be called in 1 so I used 2's names) you had Buger and Cola, Biomonsters kept getting called "Bio harzards" then are Biomonsters again in Phantasy Star 2, just to name a few as it would take forever to list all the screwy translations

If your level is the same as the enemies (it might even be the last digit, I'm not sure) then it does 8x damage. They were level 5 and so was the boss, so 8x damage!
