In the comics Superman just tried to stop Doomsday which resulted in both of them "dieing." Superman never kills intentionally. I assume Clark will try to put him in the Phantom Zone again.

He was a force of nature, unrelenting,no motives,no mercy,you can't reason with him, you can't slow him down or stop him. clearly it is you who doesn't understand, Smallville isn't it's own universe. the Superman story is a 3 act story, 1.Krypton 2.Smallville 3. Metropolis. so it's ALL superman, there is no "this is smallville, not superman" because it is the same story, characters, same results. so yes, it is very much superman. and the show has PLENTY of drama, there is no need to visually castrate a perfectly good character for the sake of a moronic love triangle
yes, we know this is Superman, but Smallville is sort of a retelling of the Superman mythos. Clark technically hasn't become Superman yet, and he's already meeting all of these heroes and villians that we know he doesn't meet until he becomes Superman. and now they've brought in Doomsday, who we know kills Superman. i think the Smallville crew may have brought him in too early, but I'm looking forward to some surprises in store for this season.

Jdzspace, wouldn't Bizarro be the antithesis to Superman though? Since he's Bizarro and junk. And pretty much the only real feat Doomsday really accomplished was killing Superman, for being ruthless, for having a one-track mind (aka simlified brute). With Davis, we have a Ben-Glory complex. We have the story of the beast fighting within himself as opposed to the "Rawr! Smash!" scenario.
and it's not just a simple "Rawr!Smash!" it's more than that. Because "Rawr!Smash!" can be combated, can be figured out. Doomsday is completley without motives, that is what makes him dangerous. Every other villian in DC has a motive, you know who is safe and who isn't makes it easier to attack the problem. But what do you do when there is no motive, no most likely victim,AND no way of stopping him. its a WHOLE different dynamic,and a LOT more dangerous.
But what do you do when there is a side of you that you utterly abhor? I think that's makes a much more interesting villain if you add a confused side to him as opposed to a callous ogre with no motive at all, killing arbitrarily, aimlessly. Sure it's more dangerous that the canon Doomsday is haphazard and pure evil, but the writers of "Smallville" are trying to find a feasible way to accomplish his story. He can't be the Hulk in every scene, especially with the limited budget they have now.
well if they can't afford to do the story right, then they should leave the character alone. He's not supposed to be that kind of character, he's not supposed to be confused, it makes him look weak. I do too. There was an article that revealed that they were trying to get Darkseid on the show. Then there was news that they said in some Australian magazine, or something like that, that they were going to have him on the show. But no one has confirmed if it's true or posted some scan of the magazine. So, all we know for sure is that at some point they've tried to talk to DC to see if they can use him.

Yep. Doomsday is just a mindless monster and is really boring when you compare him to Superman's other villains. But, with the way Smallville has done it, by making him a likable guy, have a connection with Zod so he isn't so random, makes for a more entertaining and interesting story.

I do too. There was an article that revealed that they were trying to get Darkseid on the show. Then there was news that they said in some Australian magazine, or something like that, that they were going to have him on the show. But no one has confirmed if it's true or posted some scan of the magazine. So, all we know for sure is that at some point they've tried to talk to DC to see if they can use him.

ok. i dont think so, but!!! if thats true then we may have a 10 season :s ?¿..... i mean come on we all know there is going to be a 9 season... u cant kill doomsday, confirm lex dead ( if! hes dead ),dump lana, separate brainniac from chloe,kill brainiac ( again! , and for god sakes that would be the last time), a kiss with lois, development of a clark/lois realationship, tell lois his secret in 15~22 season 8 episodes... ( from the spoilers u can tell none of that happens )..

agreed doomsday is a bit more interesting i think mainly cause this isnt the kind of villain who plans something against you...no he is an equal opportunity killer...he just wants everyone dead...very basic...but smallville has given him a humanity much like superman who would also seem boring without his human qualities ..none the less clark needs to be beaten to a pulp ill accept him living through it and send dd to space or something but beat clarks ass for at least a whole episode!

Yep. Doomsday is just a mindless monster and is really boring when you compare him to Superman's other villains. But, with the way Smallville has done it, by making him a likable guy, have a connection with Zod so he isn't so random, makes for a more entertaining and interesting story.
I don't want to see Clark losing. Hahaha. I'd like it to be pretty equal. Or they could do it like they did when he fought Titan.

doomsday hells yeah he looks sweet.. n i think chloe rocks after lana went all vampire n mystic i was kinda like ok i get lana gets powers kewl...lame n the whole sexual tension between her n clark was getting so streached out.all they ever did was get lana all whored up to keep her interesting. but chloe is a story all by her self n she looked great in clarks football jersey!!!

Gosh, do you all really hate Lana that bad? I still like her but I just want her and Clark to stay as friends like they were in the cartoon and the comics and just have Clark move on to Lois. They can make Lana better and nicer since Gough and Miller are gone. The only character I'm really sick of is Chloe. Lana should take Chloe's place instead. I just hope that Doomsday to kills Chloe then that will be the end of her. I just don't think Chloe fit in Superman's mythos period.

StarTreker,it's not that I hate Lana's character per say,in fact I am a comic fan and I enjoy her character in the Superman comic books,but on Smallville,the writers have just made her look ridiculous! I mean 7 years -7 YEARS- of our lives wasted on watching Clark run around like a puppy whenever Lana snapped her fingers at him! I am sick of what they've turned her into, that's all...As for Chloe, I'm not even gonna get started, cause I am a huge Chloe fan and I don't think we'd see eye to eye..
