I have years of experiences raising all sorts of animals for profit. This is a result of pure laziness and carelessness. They should be hung for trying to sell this kind of pork to people.

It is obvious that the way we raise the food we eat is a reflection of who we are as a society and as human beings. I choose not to eat hooved animals. I think if I did, I would have to personally inspect the farm where they were raised or look for the Certified Humane label. This behavior has to stop.

chewing the tails starts in the nursery stage it is very normal for hogs to chew at other tails despite the condition of the facility it depends how well their tails are cut at birth but yeah this is a poorly managed farm it needs to be shut down

First off not all hog facilities are like this one. Secondly, lets stop using the word humane. The definition of humane is man-like and last time I checked these are animals. The term welfare would be better suited People wanted more efficently produced meat right? So farmers invented a climate controlled sterile environment in which to house these animals Outdoors hogs are exposed to disease (internal parasites), weather, and predators. Indoors their health and nutrition is very well monitored.

to annieffa: you're saying that the hogs in the video are better off housed indoor. Then why are they sick with abscesses, limiping and cannabalizing the downers! Is that normal behavior in your world? If it is then you need to take a look at the bigger world and get out of your pig farm!

well almost..when you raise animals inside in artificial enviroment you creat alot of plablem such as sickness,dependancy on antibiotics and what to do with all the fecal matters,most producers want facilaties so they can have maximum profit ,this facility is one of the few who brings the ruputation down,i myself have a pasture pork operation and i can proudly say all of my animals are raised with out antibiotics either..start buying from small farms!you will get a better product

Stop the world, I want to get off. How can this just be allowed to happen? How can the ''farmer'' walk in there and see this happening and do nothing about it? People please think whats on your dinner plate, you could be eating a piece of meat that has come from one of these animals. I know I wouldn't want to put any part of one of those pigs into my stomach. It's so sad. These sort of farms should be stopped but they never will as humans are so greedy and want more and more to fill their faces

Factory conditions for animals are cruel beyond compare to begin with. This one is beyond cruel. Embarressing to human beings and a living nightmare for the animnals forced to endure such callous neglect.

Pigs are ravenous eaters in general. If they're hungry, they'll eat pretty much anything they can get their jaws around.

'bluekiessmile' smart ass...America actually has some of the toughest farming laws their are in this world...though there will always be the ones that break the law, our standards and regulations are still higher than Europe's as well any third world country, my family has owned dair farms for generations, thought i dont know much bout hogs i know their standards are gonna be higher than those of most foreign countries.

So glad I bought another juicer recently and plan on reducing or eliminating meat from my diet. It's just not morale, sanitary, healthy (steroids, hormones, feed from China), it's just not worth it. I think our bodies are getting sicker and sicker because of the conditions of our meat sent to market. Barf!
