notice how after Samantha asks Marlee the question, she puts the mike up to her face, expecting her to (magically) speak? LOL! took her a few seconds to to realize Marlee isn't speaking.

Marlee actually can speak (watch her appearances on Law & Order SVU and The Practice), but that is odd that Samantha put the mic up to Marlee since there was clearly an interpreter there. Maybe she thought the interpreter was just there for Marlee to understand what she was saying. Or maybe it was force of habit...
