How disgraceful, Savior Machine is confused. They cant preach the gospel and put on a haunted house halloween show at the same time. Black and white dont mix, neither do God and Satan. Chose one side to follow and don't ride the fence, you are either for God or against him.

Also one should be wary of judging other brothers and sisters in Christ--God made us all unique (aka different) and with a purpose and no one has the right to judge when this band's motivation is Christ-centered and reaching a group most Christians have shunned out of their churches.

Can someone explain this song... never did quite get it. Is the guy crying out to Jesus telling Him vengeance is his (he's gonna take care of it over God)? If it's stating what Jesus is saying... why would Jesus say "leave them behind" and "leave them to die?"

I laugh at the non-believers of any religions. They are so full of hate and miserable people. The complain about religion and even hate religious groups that do good for the homeless and aids victims and so many more!
Yet they do nothing to improve the world themselves. They attack and make fun of religion every chance they get. Even spending money on billboards to do so!
I believe in God and Jesus and no negativity will change that!
@CliftonPhotographer There are plenty of atheists and agnostics who have contributed greatly to the world. Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking come to mind. Meanwhile, organized religion, historically as a whole, has done a lot more harm than good. That being said, there definitely are and have been great Christians in the world (like this awesome band). But I'll take a militant atheist over a fundamentalist Christian any day (though both are pretty annoying, to be honest).
You argue that religion has done more harm than good - what about the proportion of the harm done by humanist ideologies such as communism? Leaders who were atheists like Pol Pot, Mao, and Stalin caused more human suffering than any church ever could. I am not saying that religion hasn't done stupid things - it has, but to argue it is the only or primary culprit of harm is a poor statement to make.
@MrTurdFurgeson That's a very cogent counter-argument if hinged upon me saying that religion is a primary culprit of harm, but that isn't what I said. And I never said atheism was better than religion., nor did I argue that there weren't bad atheists. My response to this person was merely to argue that it's far too easy to demonize atheism, because many great, compassionate minds were and are atheist. I even mentioned that there are a great many theists (fuck, we're on a Christian video).
I love this song, so much. I love the darkness of it, and the inherent, good message. May God bless this man and all He has to say. He truly reaches out to the lowest of society, those rejected by the "all-loving church". I say, if Christ came again today, He would dine among the people at this concert, rather than the heads of the churches of the world.

OK so I've read some coments down there and I see there are still those who believe that in order to enter heaven you have to be a christian or as muslims believe you have to follow islam...that's just stupid,you don't have to be neider of that,you don't have to accept any religion,everyone has something inside in which they believe,something that drives us to spread good and those who aren't on the "path" just need to be shown,the thing is to believe in each other,that's my opinion...

Jesus will save all. Even those who aren't willing, He will find a way. That was His promise; to be a light, for ALL of mankind, and I dunno if you know Jesus' track record with kept promises, but He's never made one He didn't keep.
@bigkevcxza I've found that condemnation of people usually just makes them angry and less inclined to listen. I've found that if you show love, compassion, and kindness, they'll be more likely to listen to Christ's message.
@bigkevcxza Not really the BEST. You don't read stories of Christ going around Israel condemning people, telling them that they are sinners and if they don't trust in Him for eternity, they'll be thrown into the lake of fire with Satan. That simply just doesn't do the job. We need to follow Christ's example, and show them love, not just be selfish for rewards in heaven, and dreadfully witness to people.
I think christians should rather be out there taking care of people, than making theatrical shows with "christian" ambient, whatever style it be. I love metal and I think this music is ok, but as long as christians only make this kind of shows and don't go out there to help people as Jesus did, christianity would remind one of many other subcultures in this postmodern world, and wold not be the kind of contra-cultural faith and lifestyle it should be.
SM live is Epic no matter what you think about their music or theology. I saw them in the late 90s and the whole crowd stood perfectly still for almost two hours, then we were like, "WHAT!? no more!?" It was awesome.

I like the meaning behind the lyrics but the visuals are all too Catholic for me. Jesus Does Not like crucifixes, that's idol-ism, but still a pretty good band besides that fault.

@primordialchick The bible tells us to "stay away from symbolism" since symbolism and idolism are both so much the same. We can remember what the cross represents without actually visually seeing the cross cant we? If not, then we fail as christians.

We ALL deserve an eternity in hell, but by the grace of God we can be saved. If you have true faith and believe in the Son and that He is the only way to the Father then ask for forgiveness, it will be given the bible assures us of this. And if you have faith you can move mountains (figuratively speaking) you can move the mountains in our lives that keep us from a spiritual relationship with God. But We are born into a world of sin and will be as long as we walk this earth. only through Jesus are our sins washed away!!
@kiltor2 what about muslims. i had a muslim tell me the other day that christians were wrong and that jesus was not the son of god. he said that allah is the one and only god. i asked him how he knew this and he said the koran says clearly that allah is the one and only god and that allah will not accept any other religion but islam so that means christians are going to hell right?
@fasteddie847 Allah is God I acknowledge that He is the Jewish, Christian and Muslim God but Jesus is the only way to the father He says that clearly,there is no other way. The descendants of Abraham have held a grudge for thousands of years now because Ishmael was Abrahams first son but not the one that God told Him he would have, He shouldn't have listened to Sarah and slept with the concubine Hagar. Isaac was the chosen one. Read Genesis 15-25 it will explain this.

I don't hate anyone muslim, hindu or anyone with other beliefs...I say again God gave us free will He will not twist your arm, He doesn't tell Christians to kill people if they aren't Christian. Some sects of the muslim faith believe that it is great to kill infidels so that they will gain access to Heaven. Salvation is given not earned but if you have the faith in God you will work to spread His message of salvation and love to the world

@fasteddie847 and note also that even though Ishmael was not the chosen one God let him live and blessed him with many descendants as well there were 12 tribes of Israel and 12 tribes of Ishmael. look at Israel they denied Jesus as the son of God but yet in the end they are still the chosen ones of God. Jesus established a new convenant that allows "everyone" to become a child of God. Muhammed lived what 600 years after the birth of Christ. Christians don't accept any other religions either!

God told us at the beginning of time not to eat from the fruit of knowledge but we did. God gave us the one of the most powerful things that any human could have, choice.
Abraham didn't have to listen to god, but he did out of love. He trusted god. God did not tell Abraham to murder Isaac, god told him to sacrifice him. Why? Because god wanted to test Abraham. Abraham did not sacrifice Isaac because god saw how much faith he had. God sent down an angel to stop him.

@fasteddie847 These things are symbolic. That is why it is important to read the Bible in the context of a very old tradition (like the Orthodox for instance), along with the patristic texts. Allegory is used to explain advanced spiritual truths in the manner that fairy tales explain simple truths about human existence. And this caution and experience is needed, cause even though truths are hidden within, the Bible was written by people for people. Thats how I can make sense of the weirder bits

It says slavery is ok and gives rules on how to treat slaves including beatings, it says women are inferiour to men, it says believers can drink poison and play with snakes and they will be fine, it says to kill your kids if they disobey, it says if you rape a women that you must marry her and pay her old man some silver, oh and he also told a guy to kill his own son for a sacrifice. The bible is very easy to misinterpret and misunderstand, and it has been over the last past centuries. The law of man and the law of god are completely different and often mistaken. I also noticed that the stament you bought up were events from the old testament. I recommend reading the new testament.

@fasteddie847 We are put in situations where we have the opportunity to seek God's love. I should have died many times over the years, I was spared did I seek him out? NO! because I thought I was just lucky to have made it through those situations so I ignored the chances. Finally I was put in a situation where I knew I had absolutely no control over the outcome. I turned to God because I realized no one else could help me. I am still here! maybe to be saying what I am right now. trust him

i'm a huge metalhead and have been since i was a young child. I'm also a Christian and a week ago I was looking for christian metal bands and I just stumbled upon these guys and I must say they are instantly one of my fav bands. I've really strayed away from a lot of music just because the message goes againt my values and It's a shame so many very super rad, super talented metal bands are playing for the wrong team. It's good to see that some christan metal bands still whale! Praise Jesus!

My answer is read the book of Revelations in the Bible. there are people being left behind, the people that are not in the book of life. A lot of SMs songs come frpm the old testament or the book of Revelations.

I love this song, so much. I love the darkness of it, and the inherent, good message. May God bless this man and all He has to say. He truly reaches out to the lowest of society, those rejected by the "all-loving church". I say, if Christ came again today, He would dine among the people at this concert, rather than the heads of the churches of the world.

You don't read stories of Christ going around Israel condemning people, telling them that they are sinners and if they don't trust in Him for eternity, they'll be thrown into the lake of fire with Satan. That simply just doesn't do the job. We need to follow Christ's example, and show them love, not just be selfish for rewards in heaven, and dreadfully witness to people.

I think christians should rather be out there taking care of people, than making theatrical shows with "christian" ambient, whatever style it be. I love metal and I think this music is ok, but as long as christians only make this kind of shows and don't go out there to help people as Jesus did, christianity would remind one of many other subcultures in this postmodern world, and wold not be the kind of contra-cultural faith and lifestyle it should be.

SM live is Epic no matter what you think about their music or theology. I saw them in the late 90s and the whole crowd stood perfectly still for almost two hours, then we were like, "WHAT!? no more!?" It was awesome.

If you have true faith and believe in the Son and that He is the only way to the Father then ask for forgiveness, it will be given the bible assures us of this. And if you have faith you can move mountains (figuratively speaking) you can move the mountains in our lives that keep us from a spiritual relationship with God. The descendants of Abraham have held a grudge for thousands of years now because Ishmael was Abrahams first son but not the one that God told Him he would have, He shouldn't have listened to Sarah and slept with the concubine Hagar. Isaac was the chosen one. Read Genesis 15-25 it will explain this.

Some sects of the muslim faith believe that it is great to kill infidels so that they will gain access to Heaven. Abraham didn't have to listen to god, but he did out of love. He trusted god. God did not tell Abraham to murder Isaac, god told him to sacrifice him. Why? Because god wanted to test Abraham. Abraham did not sacrifice Isaac because god saw how much faith he had. God sent down an angel to stop him.

@fasteddie847 These things are symbolic. That is why it is important to read the Bible in the context of a very old tradition (like the Orthodox for instance), along with the patristic texts. Allegory is used to explain advanced spiritual truths in the manner that fairy tales explain simple truths about human existence. And this caution and experience is needed, cause even though truths are hidden within, the Bible was written by people for people. Thats how I can make sense of the weirder bits

The bible is very easy to misinterpret and misunderstand, and it has been over the last past centuries. The law of man and the law of god are completely different and often mistaken. NO! because I thought I was just lucky to have made it through those situations so I ignored the chances. Finally I was put in a situation where I knew I had absolutely no control over the outcome. I agree that Christ (God) sees you for who you are and not by your clothes. But I'd humbly disagree with the "who you are" part in that it's not who we are, not the "me-ness/being saved" that makes us who we are but our actions. Faith without works (good deeds) is dead.
I'm not saved until I wake up staring at Jesus up in heaven and I'm not going to jump the gun by saying I'm saved before then! :)

I agree! The apostle John didn't go around singing Jeremy Camp songs all day. God wants us to worship and glorify his name and do it with joyous hearts. i'm a huge metalhead and have been since i was a young child. I'm also a Christian and a week ago I was looking for christian metal bands and I just stumbled upon these guys and I must say they are instantly one of my fav bands. I've really strayed away from a lot of music just because the message goes againt my values and It's a shame so many very super rad, super talented metal bands are playing for the wrong team. It's good to see that some christan metal bands still whale! Praise Jesus!

My answer is read the book of Revelations in the Bible. there are people being left behind, the people that are not in the book of life. A lot of SMs songs come frpm the old testament or the book of Revelations.

you can find the answer in the Bible, The Book of Revelaitons. It is about the end of the world and what will happen to the belivers and those that piggheadedly turned away from salvation. It is a song about what happens to those who refused salvation from the ONLY ONE!
