Well dcx1287 I experienced very often in my life that prayer helps. What I can do myself, God won't do it for me. What I cannot do, He can do it for me. It has been shown time and time again that prayer does work.
@cameroonman I don't know how else to say this other than to say you're 100% incorrect. There is a specific way in which we determine what works and what doesn't. It's called applying the scientific method to hypotheses that are testable and falsifiable. Prayer is testable and falsifiable, and has been done so countless times in the scientific literature. I suppose you didn't know that, but now you do. I don't want you to take my word for it, I want you to look it up on your own.
@cameroonman It has never been shown that that is the case. Please feel free to back up your claim that "[i]t has been shown time and time again that prayer does work" with some scientific evidence.
Great, let's sit on our knees and PRAY for the guy while he's dying. Great idea. Prayer has never been shown to be efficacious in the slightest relative to random chance. I mean, I'm sure the woman means well. The fact remains that her actions are not helping at all, and they are due in part to the ignorance perpetuated by billions of delusional people who falsely believe that prayer works when it has been shown time and time again that prayer does not work.
@dcx1287 Yeah your right about prayer probably not helping, but if it has a .0000000000000000001% in helping in some way then why not? Its not like he wasn't getting helped by the EMT's by her praying. Let her practice her and possibly his faith and stop being so judgmental. Im not religious in the slightest but if I was dying I would want as many people praying for me as possible. Bottom line is she has the right to pray, and many americans including myself would die to protect that freedom.
@xXxA7X4LIFExXx15 Fortunately for me I live in a country where I have the freedom to be judgmental. If I was dying, I would rather have somebody who is trained in CPR taking care of me over someone who would know nothing else other than to sit and pray which for all intents and purposes is equivalent to someone running around in circles screaming "lalalalalalalalalala". CPR has a greater than 5% chance of succeeding. I'll take 5% over .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%
let's all remember the basic's before we judge, unwitnessed cardiac arrest = do 5 cycles of CPR at 30:2 (compressions:breaths), after 5 cycles stick the AED on
witnessed cardiac arrest = stick the AED on right away, shock, begin CPR if needed, and keep on keeping on
Now a defibrillator will only shock 2 types of heart rhythms; Ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation
so keep doing CPR until you get the correct eletrical impulses
Video does not tell all. AED and O2 were on scene. They were there. Rememeber CPR is only necessary when there is no pulse and we only shock people who need it.
Whats with people and having heart attacks with jetblue?
