@jsd1996475 Yeah, Corso was clueless on that one. Pasqualoni did a good job for a long time, but his last few years were going downhill and recruiting was falling apart in that time. Not all his fault, because the University did a terrible job of investing in facilities and the program at the time, while the rest of the league was improving theirs. Changes needed to be made, but Robinson was obviously the wrong guy.

Had had had-was was was,all that express & jim brown $hit happend over 60 something years ago what do they expect!? they've had 1 or 2 good players but as far as teams go-nada,they werent competeing for natn'l chhampionships before gross or robinson got there.When exactly did they last win a title? a meaningful bowlgame? @TR3YBUCK Clueless. Syracuse was 11-0-1 in 87, 10-2 in 88, 10-2 in 91, and 10-2 in 92. Then from 95-98, they were going 9-3 every year. They beat Colorado in the 93 Fiesta Bowl. They beat Clemson 41-0 in the 95 Gator Bowl. McNabb, Freeney, Harrison, Bulluck, Darius, etc.....they had more than "1 or 2 good players". You don't have to go back 50 years to find good Syracuse football teams. From the late 80's to 2001, they were almost always in the top 25.

I'm from Rutgers. We're gonna wipe our feet on the orange doormat of the Big East for the rest of their time in the BCS. We've beaten them the last 4 years straight and this Sat. will be the 5th straight. They should become FBS so they stop getting embarrassed so bad. Of course, they will still lose to Buffalo, Maine, and the mighty zips of Akron, LOL.

I am not the biggest Daryl Gross fan, but it was not Gross' decision to fire Paul Pasqualoni...it was a board of trustees decision. Gross was at SU for about a month when he was given the impossible job of finding Pasqualoni's replacement in the end of January. Not many choices available. What I blame Gross for was the contract he gave an unproven coach - a GUARANTEED five-year seven figure contract. Horrendous.

But Pasqualoni had to go. There's no debate about that.

I'm a penn state fan, but i will tell you wat, Syracuse is not waht it used to be. In my opinion from what I have seen from this video, Gross should have just stayed at USC and kept his west coast offense over there, i agree witrh the guy in the middle, it has not the same place mentality wise or culture wise.

It DEFINITELY was time for Pasqualoni to go after the 2004 season. But Robinson just was the wrong person to replace him with. But I think that Gross struck gold by hiring Doug Marrone. Marrone is going to be like the "Greg Schiano of Syracuse." That is, he is going to breathe new life into that program, recruit his tail off, and make them a winning program again.

Actually, I could see 'Cuse going to a bowl game with a couple of seasons. Syracuse was 3-9 in 2007, but, IMHO, had they had a better coach, they would have had at least two more wins.

born and raised in syracuse ny, watched the glory days of the 1990's when donovan mcnabb, marvin harrison, dwight freeney, keith bullock,donovan darius just to name a few were wrecking the big east, remember the Virginia Tech rivalry? WTF happened? Never should have dropped Coach P for this clown Robinson and im glad to see hes gone. We lost Ray Rice when Pasqualoni got fired. Lets hope the next generation of Cuse kids get to watch a powerhouse like i did growing up

They didn't pass on Mike Vick. They offered him a scholarship and he chose Va Tech. Now Mike Hart is where they screwed up. He lived in Michigan until he was 12 and went to HS in the Syracuse area. SU probably didn't have much of a shot but they blew it when the moron twins of Pasqualoni and Deleone told him he'd play DB for them.
