its not the car with the problem towing, its if you have to stop short with that where the problem is. we tow with a honda crv. and with only a jetski theres a difference in braking.
Wow osusx, you're an idiot. You obviously have no idea how to calculate safe towing limits. In addition, I'm very knowledgable about jet boats, yes they are lighter than some boats of equivalent size, they still weigh around 2000lbs dry, that's not calculating fuel or gear. Towing a boat with a car is well, not only illegal, but fucking stupid.
Jasonkingj69, it is a jet boat. Boats are classified by the type of propulsion. It's a combustion engine but does not have a propeller, instead it has an impeller and a nozzle, therefore it is in fact a jet boat. Go to google before you post something that you have no idea what you are saying.
People are so retarded, first off just about anything, even a mini can tow a lot of weight. What you are doing wrong is that your camry can't stop the boat short in an emergency. In addition, you have obviously ignored the GVWR and tow rating. So while you think you're good because you can literally pull your boat, you are a big fucking tool that needs to get off the roads because your going to rear end someone.
@jasonmsmith2 Jet boats are very light, especially that model. Do your research. Not that I'd recommend towing anything with a car, just saying this is well within the cars limits.
@mdr8088 that's because most people with boats have enough sense to get a vehicle that will get the job done without ruining the vehicle or tying up a boat ramp if a failure occurs.
When was the last time you checked your oil smart one? Or is that the way them pos Camry's run. I'm sure the tranny shop will check it for you after they have to rebuild your shit haha.
After watching a ton of boat launch videos.....I have discovered that our boat ramp is on way too much of an incline. It is almost hard to walk up the dang thing.
@HiWay69s haha, no hes not that little bit of salt is not going to do anything think about how much salt cars get in the north where they use it on the roads all winter
camery is a good car. that is no doubt. it can lauch a 17" and pull it back, but i concern about when you are towing the boat on highway. It is hard to stop the trail. It doesn't worth to put your wife and kids' life in a risk. I would like to only use a truck-based suv to two sth. By the way man, i Like your boat!
With the boat in the highway i go like 60 to 70 MPH and it's stopped pretty good up to this point. But of course never had to Step on the breaks flat going at that speed u know. Anyhow i know what u mean & i've had Ruff & quick stops but thank god the good thread on the tires has never let me down. Now i have 22's on the car, take a look at a video i uploaded yesterday if you want to see them...
Camry's are good cars, I won't fault you there, but that is a small, a very small boat. I would expect the Camry to be able to pull it with ease. If you were to pull a 20 foot Bullet fishing boat with a 200hp Mercury up that ramp, then I would be truly impressed.
i agree! but still many people don't think that it can actually pull it. I know it doesn't weight mutch. As i mentioned in other comments, the biggest i've pulled up that ramp in the camry it's been a 17 FT yamaha exciter twin engine, but other then that i have not tried any 20 ft. But i don't think i'll try the 20ft either i'm not crazy u know lol
@69CherryPopper Obviously the fact that you are proud of a Toyota Camry is evidence enough you never owned a Viper. As for towing with a Corvette, it has the same engine (with better parts and more power) that a Silverado has, as well as much better brakes for stopping too. Because I haven't upgraded the suspension, and because I have the Z06 model which has an aluminum frame instead of steel, I try to keep everything under 3,500 lbs. I easily tows it's own transporter without issues.
I don't need to prove anything to anyone. This is the internet, U can either take it or leave it...By the way just cause this video is here doesn't mean i'm actually proud of the toyota. I'm proud of The brand itself cause i know it gives mutch less problems then an American car and everyone who's ever owned one knows i'm right. in the other hand i personaly "Hate" 4-cyl. But this video was made simply to show that a simply camry can tow a JetBoat. Because some people said it couldn't...
@69CherryPopper I don't know why you seem to think american cars have so much trouble. I have had my Corvette for over 5 years now. I have put over 110,000 miles on it so far. The biggest problem I have had with it so far was the front turn signal bulb burned out.
That's great! But overall americans cars do last u alot less time in the long run and needless to say that they do loose value faster. But for example i've heard that most small engines in american cars do give u more problems then bigger ones. I guess cinse they have more power they don't need to be pushed to their limits mutch to get a great performance.
@69CherryPopper You are wrong on both counts. I know of thousands of pre WWII american cars still going strong, most in original condition. As for losing value, I compared a 2010 Camry to 23 different American cars' lease residual values over 24, 36, 48, and 60 month leases. American cars beat the Camry 90 out of 92 times. With a 97.8% success rate in the test, I would consider that a win for the American cars when comparing value.
I'm not concentrating in Camrys. I just mean cars made in Japan. With the real J in front of the VIN # does are the real good ones. But u can't sit here and compare a 2010 to see if it holds it's value...we are in 2010 Now! So you have to look back to see if for example a 2005 chevy 2 a 2005 Nissan
you know...with same mileage & all. And well simply ask any mechanic shop u pass by one day & they'll tell you that what they see most are american cars. I've asked alot & they've all said the same
@69CherryPopper The problem with comparing 2005 models is you are going strictly off of price, and used cars vary in price due to condition, miles, options, etc. On the other hand the lease residual value is measured in a percentage, and all the manufacturers use the same company to establish said residual value so therefore the results are unbiased.
@v12tommy not trying to be an ass, but compare lets say corola vs cobalt vs focus vs neon. I guarantee the toyota will be worth more in 5 yrs than the rest by a lot, im guessing a few thousand.
@phatrides222000 you can't go by a dollar amount. Used cars vary in price due to conditions, miles, factory options, etc. If we are going off of price, my 8 year old Corvette is worth more than the Corolla new, so the American cars win. I compared the lease residual value (measured in percentage) of 23 models earlier and the American cars won 90 out of 92 comparisons. That is a pretty good percentage.
@phatrides222000 Well if you think anyone will pay 2/3 of the MSRP for a 5 year old car, I have an amazing bridge in NYC I would like to sell them. Even half is usually pushing it. I took the blue book value for all 4 cars mentioned, 60k miles, fair condition, no options. Focus was $5,500, Corolla was $6,100, Cobalt was $7,300, and the Neon was $7,925. So 2 out of the 3 American cars mentioned beat the Corolla. Looks like I win again.
@v12tommy a neon worth more than a corolla, i find that hard to believe, but if u say so. I would buy a 10yr old corolla before a new neon or cobalt any day. well maybe a new cobalt, but never a neon. Anyways i didn't do any research, i'm just going buy what i see in general. When i buy vehicles for work, i buy used and imports have always cost more. Could have something to do with location to.
@phatrides222000 I was completely shocked about the Neon thing. I expected the Cobalt to be worth more than the Corolla, but I couldn't believe it when I saw that the Neon was worth even more than the Cobalt. I think we both agree that Neons suck, but aparently other people love them or something. Right now I have a Corvette and an Audi, but I am looking to buy a car for my business soon, and I am going with a Chevy HHR. (same platform as the Cobalt)
@69CherryPopper Also I thought I would add, coming from an engine builder, that your big vs. little engine assumption is backwards. Higher horsepower engines are built with tighter tolerances and higher compression and would be more prone to issues not less prone. As far as smaller american engines giving more issues, I have never seen one Ecotec engine failure (GM/Chevy 4 cylinder) in person, but of course I have only been around cars and racing since before that engine was designed.
about the engine whise, simply let's go for example on Ford a pretty good example on an american car...i've personaly known people that have owned a focus and also an expedition. and guess who's giving them the most problems...the focus of course & u would ask, cause of miles or year diffrence?? nahh both owners got them with 0 miles. I personally dislike Ford it has not impressed me mutch in older modles. but year's 2010 & up they said they'll get better. only time will tell...
@69CherryPopper well I am not sure why your friend is having so many issues with his Focus, but it could be driver error. They use the Focus engine for racing in USAC midgets (stock, but converted to run on methanol) and the focus guys can get 2 full seasons out of an engine without so much as a teardown. Compare that to the teams running toyotas and other makes, who probably can't go 2 weekends without a teardown. And I am not even a Ford guy, I am a Chevy guy.
i had not heard that before but it sounds pretty impressive that it would last even for 2 seasons. Anyhow i respect ur interest in american cars, but i'd personaly dislike them.
@69CherryPopper It isn't just me, but the japanese too. I deal with mostly street rods and sports cars, and the japanese are buying american street rods and shipping them to japan at a rate never before seen. I am not sure exactly what is driving the trend, but maybe they have a bunch of retiring people spending their savings like we do or something.
@69CherryPopper you say ask a mechanic, well I am a mechanic and I drive American. My dad worked on Indy Cars and F1, my grandpa and uncle are mechanics and own a shop, my other uncle used to own another shop, my friend is a mechanic who holds records at Bonneville, and guess what....they all drive American. I could mention quite a bit more as well, but my post would be too long.
@69CherryPopper i'm not trying to be funny. them jet boats weigh nothing compared to an actual fiberglass I/O boat. the motor is simply a jetski motor.
Well this jetboat is actually fiberglass and yes, you are right it's the same engine that u may see in a jetski it's just altered a bit for the extra load & a mutch bigger gas tank. But weights the same it's just easier to work on cince there's so mutch room in the trunk that even i can fit in there inside the engine compartment.
@69CherryPopper they aren't altered one bit bud. they just put in the highest HP motor bombardier makes and changed the jetpump impeller pitch. that's seriously it. and i agree. they are a lot easier to work on. because that's what i do for a living. i work on boats.
you can clearly see the the trailer is barely in the water, the black rub rails 3/4th's of them look to be barely in the water.. from the looks of it.. everything from the Wheel on the trailer and back is barely in the water. bring your little camry to a real boat launch and steeper then a 5% grade slope, with alge. then you can brag about towing your 2500lb seadoo
Lol R u serious?? the dry weight on it is only 1600lbs & by the way in Miami this is the worst ramp we have u can search around if you ever come by Miami. & by the way the hole car was practically in the ramp & yes the boat was in the water cause i had just put it in the trailer with the ropes. I've been doing this with this boat for 2 years now & gladly have had no problems with it coming up the ramp ever...
I had to pull with my own Boat a 32 FT ones 5 miles from the Ramp that Stayed with-ought gas. lmao. It just goes to tell you, if you are really smart you'll get something that with a full tank will last you a day or two & still keep u at 65 + MPH on the water. & if you knew about boats you'd know what the difference from a dingy is to a jet boat lol. Then again about taking it up the ramp, the most I've tried with-ought any problems is a 19 FT. Anyways thanx for the comment...
@FLY172M Fuck!!!! My Dodge is REALLY gona have a work out if I have to pull all 3 of your dumb asses out lol. You better just do it right the first time and save yourselves the embarrassment.
Hey i plan to make two purchases soon. im gonna buy a used car. and then if my income permits it a used jet ski. can you relate any experiences of towing with a car. also any advice?
Simply don't tow it with bold tires or u might end up in the water. also try not to put ur car in D to pull it up the ramp, just put the shifter down to first gear when coming up the ramp. Use your Hand emergency Break alot! and Never put the car in Parking while on the ramp cause that will damage ur trans in the long run just in nuetral with the emergency break is fine....i hope that helps...
i've been pulling that boat for a little bit over a year & a half now & i've had "Cero" Visits to the Mechanic. It just goes to show U what a Toyota is all about :-)
Sounded/looked easy to me. Auto is the way to go at the ramp. Automatics always have higher tow ratings(than stick) on cars & light trucks(through ~F-450, eg.)
I did a lot of towing with my '86 Ford Tempo 5-speed. A little touchy at the ramp with the 16' Glastron, but the highway towing performance & MPG was great(only 95 horsepower, too).
My friend used to tow a 17' DSC Offshore w/ a '89 MX-6 GT Turbo 5-speed between NY & FL.. he didn't push it too hard. sold the car w/ ~200K miles.
There's a Lake right by the airport where the ramp is at, but if you see all my videos that lake also takes you to the canals like the one next to 8st. They go all the way up to the Miccosukee's by 177 Ave
Actually i had the plugs closed at that time, if you put the video in full screen you can see that the water is actually coming from the trailer not the boat...
not to question your car. but I wouldn't try that to much sounds like your engine is really struggling to get up the ramp. I'm sure the engine could handle it but your tranny and other parts probably can't handle it.
well up to this date it's been about 2 years that i've been pulling that boat with this car, and i go to the ramp about 2 times a week at least & now i have 22 inch rims on it with makes it weight alot more. But i've had 0 problems with the vehicle so far. it's true in the long run the transmision might get messed up but i don't push it in the street either and maintain it real good i guess that's why it hasn't given me any problems, anyways thanx for the comment....
@69CherryPopper Why anyone would put 22 inch rims on a automatic 4-cylinder Camry (and I'm guessing they're clad in really shitty Chinese-made tires) is beyond me. But to each his own...
Well, it's an eye catcher that's for sure, & as far as tucking in 22" in a car & still maintaining the cars height with thought them rubbing at all I still believe it's an accomplishment that not many people can really afford. Since the cost of gas is definitely going 2 be much higher not counting the adjustments needed 2 be made 2 the suspension that just adds 2 the bill. But everyone has their own opinions, sum like it some hate it. I just like the fact that everyone has something to say lol.
ive noticed almost everyone that buys this little boats to put there boat in the water once in a bluee moon they have to have a big pick up i know what u mean i have a lil 6 banger i put my boat in the water less ur going somewhere with it far u dont need a big truck
Ones i towed and also took in and out of the ramp a Yamaha twin engine 18ft jetboat also with this same car & it felt about the same weight cause it was only about 400 pounds heavier then mines not mutch difference, but i still wouldn't try a 20ft that's just simply pushing it to far u know....but anyways thanx for ur comment.
Not really, this video was made just so that people can see that not having an SUV or truck does not limit yourself to having a boat or Jetski & still being able to pull it up the Ramp.
You'll be surpriced but i've never had trouble on the ramp before, i even had to pull out a little Ford Ranger out the water about 2 months ago, cause being rear wheel drive it went back in the ramp instead or forward LoL & with only a single Jetski LoL
that car brand new off the show room floor only has a 1500lbs towing power. depending on how old your car is depends on how much you can tow. hint. the older it is the less it will tow. i tow campers for a living and your car sounded like it was straining its guts out getting up that little hill. the boat and trailer is what maybe 800lbs you have to add your weight and add the water thats still in your boat and engin so another 200-300lbs, your car is not ment for that its a little 4cyl.
This video is like saying i smoked crack got drunk and took several hits of acid but look at me i'm alive. It must be okay to do this to your body!
Anyone who knows chit would know that a manual would be better since you could at least shift later but that automatic has no clue when to shift with a load like that. FYI a tow haul setting generally tells the tranny to shift later because you want to run high rpm's not low.
LoL LMFAO!! Yeah i know manual is alot better for that, but for daily driving here in Miami I'd recomend Automatic, or else ur hand will litteraly fall off LoL. I also put the car on L when going up the ramp & i also use the emergency break alot If i'm gona stay still with the boat behind me...
@mlcurcio1989 i know this was awhile ago, but your an idiot, makes no difference, autos can be shifted manually. make sense when you're going to "act smart".... and quote things written in automotive manuals. :D
Also only going 1500 rpm's is a bad thing. The engine internals are going to be under more stress at low rpms. You saying that just shows that you have no clue how a car works. Your going 5 miles an hour so yeah its going to be in 1st gear and putting out 1.5k rpms. Rpms are directly related to the speed of the vehicle and you run higher rpms to hold yourself in the power band longer but when your going 5mph in a vehicle without a tcase you have no choice but to put out low rpms.
Well i just wanted to let people know how high they would go because everyone seems to ask me about the RPMs but that's only while taking it up the ramp, after in the street driving I'll go way faster of course...The fastest i've gone with the triler in the back is like 65 at most on highways, Mines is an Automatic by the way
So if RPM's are directly related to the speed of a vehicle, how come when my pickup is in low transfer, it will turn 2100 rpm at less than 10mph, but I can run 75mph at the same RPM in high gear, in overdrive on the interstate? Do I have a magical pickup\ Also, What do torque converters do in relation to engine RPM and the speed of a vehicle? What is considered normal torque converter slippage for a 4cyl Toyota in the forementioned video? Just asking cause you seem to be an expert.
What i was saying is that in a sedan that has an auto transmission and obviously no x case to say that the car was not working hard based on the rpms is not an accurate statement. The torque converter will have an effect on that but regardless you cannot judge the strain that your putting on the internals under a load like that based on rpms.
those boats weigh close to 1500lbs plus the trailer weight.
Well like i said its not going to damage it right away but that is putting loads of stress on a transmission not designed to hold up to that. I guarantee that tranny is going to go out prematurely. What does the vehicle only having 30k have to do with anything? You obviously do not understand the r&d process that goes into designing vehicles. No one is saying you can't do that it just WILL damage the vehicle in the long run.
True it might damage it but i just mentioned the 30K miles on it so that you knew that it's not a Vehicle that has more then 100K on it. Because as we all know vehicles that have more mileage and years on them will not work as great as a mutch newer one....
Yeah it can pull it out but that is going to destroy the vehicle. I am sure the engine can handle that but the transmission and the rest of the drive train will get destroyed. You pulling two thousand pounds with a transmission that was designed for a small car. Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should.
Ur right, it's not designed to pull it. I've towed my boat exacly for a year with it and now the car has 22 inch wheels so u know it's heavy but it has not given me any problems at all up to this point, it also has less then 30K miles on it. Well Thank you for your comment...
If i was U I'd Put it too, Them Bonneville's look Great with a Hitch on, It would look like a Car with Steroids pulling a trailer :-) I'm a big fan of the Bonneville too, Got 2 love them Big full size Cars cause they are really comfortable...
i have a neighbor down the street from me that pulls a 10' enclosed trailer behind his 03. kinda got me thinking bout puttin one on my 04 and yeah they do ride awsome. got that air ride load leveling system factory on it so it should pull level aswell. might eventually start doing somethings to the engine. ill make ya laugh when i say this but thinkin of a turbo kit to put it at 400hp that should pull things prety good
it's still a unibody frame, if you tried to pull a full size 5000 lb boat like a truck can do, using a 400 hp camry then you will rip your car in half.
LoL i've seen lots of does peeling out in the ramp next 2 me with just 1 jetsky. I never peel out cause of the front wheel drive. We all know that american cars like ford hardly make it to the 200K with one engine so i wouldn't really put my trust in them lol.
That true but remember japanese car are overbuilt to last but at more cost. And I do own a 2002 Ford Focus and rather not pull anything so it will last.
probacly closer to 1000 or 800 like a a little more than a jet skii 10-14 ft seadoo now i have seen a buick park ave pulling a 16ft centerconsole bay boat. thats a sight
How much does the boat + trailer weigh? Most 4cyl can tow up to 1000lbs, some can go 1500, or even 2000lbs. That ramp isn't very steep, but in general, I heard its not good for the transmission.
its not the car with the problem towing, its if you have to stop short with that where the problem is. we tow with a honda crv. and with only a jetski theres a difference in braking.

But i don't think i'll try the 20ft either i'm not crazy u know lol

Wow, you pull your boat with a Camry? You are actually proud you own a Camry? That is sad.
I used to pull mine with my Corvette. Still have the Vette, but the boat and trailer were traded for another car several years ago.

yup i used to pull it with my viper but decided to start pulling it with the toyota cinse it always impresses people at the ramp lol

@69CherryPopper I don't know why you seem to think american cars have so much trouble. I have had my Corvette for over 5 years now. I have put over 110,000 miles on it so far. The biggest problem I have had with it so far was the front turn signal bulb burned out.
v12tommy 1 year ago
That's great! But overall americans cars do last u alot less time in the long run and needless to say that they do loose value faster. But for example i've heard that most small engines in american cars do give u more problems then bigger ones. I guess cinse they have more power they don't need to be pushed to their limits mutch to get a great performance.
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
@69CherryPopper You are wrong on both counts. I know of thousands of pre WWII american cars still going strong, most in original condition. As for losing value, I compared a 2010 Camry to 23 different American cars' lease residual values over 24, 36, 48, and 60 month leases. American cars beat the Camry 90 out of 92 times. With a 97.8% success rate in the test, I would consider that a win for the American cars when comparing value.
v12tommy 1 year ago
I'm not concentrating in Camrys. I just mean cars made in Japan. With the real J in front of the VIN # does are the real good ones. But u can't sit here and compare a 2010 to see if it holds it's value...we are in 2010 Now! So you have to look back to see if for example a 2005 chevy 2 a 2005 Nissan
you know...with same mileage & all. And well simply ask any mechanic shop u pass by one day & they'll tell you that what they see most are american cars. I've asked alot & they've all said the same
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
@69CherryPopper The problem with comparing 2005 models is you are going strictly off of price, and used cars vary in price due to condition, miles, options, etc. On the other hand the lease residual value is measured in a percentage, and all the manufacturers use the same company to establish said residual value so therefore the results are unbiased.
v12tommy 1 year ago
@v12tommy not trying to be an ass, but compare lets say corola vs cobalt vs focus vs neon. I guarantee the toyota will be worth more in 5 yrs than the rest by a lot, im guessing a few thousand.
phatrides222000 1 year ago
@phatrides222000 you can't go by a dollar amount. Used cars vary in price due to conditions, miles, factory options, etc. If we are going off of price, my 8 year old Corvette is worth more than the Corolla new, so the American cars win. I compared the lease residual value (measured in percentage) of 23 models earlier and the American cars won 90 out of 92 comparisons. That is a pretty good percentage.
v12tommy 1 year ago
@v12tommy those vehicles are all around 15,000 new. In 5 yrs the american cars will be worth maybe half that and the japaneese will be about 10,000.
phatrides222000 1 year ago
@phatrides222000 Well if you think anyone will pay 2/3 of the MSRP for a 5 year old car, I have an amazing bridge in NYC I would like to sell them. Even half is usually pushing it. I took the blue book value for all 4 cars mentioned, 60k miles, fair condition, no options. Focus was $5,500, Corolla was $6,100, Cobalt was $7,300, and the Neon was $7,925. So 2 out of the 3 American cars mentioned beat the Corolla. Looks like I win again.
v12tommy 1 year ago
@v12tommy a neon worth more than a corolla, i find that hard to believe, but if u say so. I would buy a 10yr old corolla before a new neon or cobalt any day. well maybe a new cobalt, but never a neon. Anyways i didn't do any research, i'm just going buy what i see in general. When i buy vehicles for work, i buy used and imports have always cost more. Could have something to do with location to.
phatrides222000 1 year ago
@phatrides222000 I was completely shocked about the Neon thing. I expected the Cobalt to be worth more than the Corolla, but I couldn't believe it when I saw that the Neon was worth even more than the Cobalt. I think we both agree that Neons suck, but aparently other people love them or something. Right now I have a Corvette and an Audi, but I am looking to buy a car for my business soon, and I am going with a Chevy HHR. (same platform as the Cobalt)
v12tommy 1 year ago
@69CherryPopper Also I thought I would add, coming from an engine builder, that your big vs. little engine assumption is backwards. Higher horsepower engines are built with tighter tolerances and higher compression and would be more prone to issues not less prone. As far as smaller american engines giving more issues, I have never seen one Ecotec engine failure (GM/Chevy 4 cylinder) in person, but of course I have only been around cars and racing since before that engine was designed.
v12tommy 1 year ago
about the engine whise, simply let's go for example on Ford a pretty good example on an american car...i've personaly known people that have owned a focus and also an expedition. and guess who's giving them the most problems...the focus of course & u would ask, cause of miles or year diffrence?? nahh both owners got them with 0 miles. I personally dislike Ford it has not impressed me mutch in older modles. but year's 2010 & up they said they'll get better. only time will tell...
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
@69CherryPopper well I am not sure why your friend is having so many issues with his Focus, but it could be driver error. They use the Focus engine for racing in USAC midgets (stock, but converted to run on methanol) and the focus guys can get 2 full seasons out of an engine without so much as a teardown. Compare that to the teams running toyotas and other makes, who probably can't go 2 weekends without a teardown. And I am not even a Ford guy, I am a Chevy guy.
v12tommy 1 year ago
i had not heard that before but it sounds pretty impressive that it would last even for 2 seasons. Anyhow i respect ur interest in american cars, but i'd personaly dislike them.
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
@69CherryPopper It isn't just me, but the japanese too. I deal with mostly street rods and sports cars, and the japanese are buying american street rods and shipping them to japan at a rate never before seen. I am not sure exactly what is driving the trend, but maybe they have a bunch of retiring people spending their savings like we do or something.
v12tommy 1 year ago
Well that's good to know, at least they are helping the economy of this country by buying american cars from us.
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
@v12tommy; It's because thier economy recovered around 2006.

@69CherryPopper you say ask a mechanic, well I am a mechanic and I drive American. I could mention quite a bit more as well, but my post would be too long.

u might have said it just to be funny. but it's true they might be able to do it.
I would love to try it out tho....
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
@69CherryPopper i'm not trying to be funny. them jet boats weigh nothing compared to an actual fiberglass I/O boat. the motor is simply a jetski motor.
TravisKilpatrick23 1 year ago
Well this jetboat is actually fiberglass and yes, you are right it's the same engine that u may see in a jetski it's just altered a bit for the extra load & a mutch bigger gas tank. But weights the same it's just easier to work on cince there's so mutch room in the trunk that even i can fit in there inside the engine compartment.
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
@69CherryPopper they aren't altered one bit bud. they just put in the highest HP motor bombardier makes and changed the jetpump impeller pitch. that's seriously it. and i agree. they are a lot easier to work on. because that's what i do for a living. i work on boats.

you can clearly see the the trailer is barely in the water, the black rub rails 3/4th's of them look to be barely in the water.. from the looks of it.. everything from the Wheel on the trailer and back is barely in the water. bring your little camry to a real boat launch and steeper then a 5% grade slope, with alge. then you can brag about towing your 2500lb seadoo
wakecool 1 year ago
Lol R u serious?? the dry weight on it is only 1600lbs & by the way in Miami this is the worst ramp we have u can search around if you ever come by Miami. & by the way the hole car was practically in the ramp & yes the boat was in the water cause i had just put it in the trailer with the ropes. I've been doing this with this boat for 2 years now & gladly have had no problems with it coming up the ramp ever...

Anyways thanx for the comment...

jacksonfan99 1 year ago
Simply don't tow it with bold tires or u might end up in the water. also try not to put ur car in D to pull it up the ramp, just put the shifter down to first gear when coming up the ramp. Use your Hand emergency Break alot! and Never put the car in Parking while on the ramp cause that will damage ur trans in the long run just in nuetral with the emergency break is fine....i hope that helps...
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
@69CherryPopper NO NO, Emergency brake first to hold the car then in Park as a back-up in case the brake fails.

They go all the way up to the Miccosukee's by 177 Ave

hedgehoghunter007 1 year ago
not to question your car. but I wouldn't try that to much sounds like your engine is really struggling to get up the ramp. I'm sure the engine could handle it but your tranny and other parts probably can't handle it.
abram7117 1 year ago
well up to this date it's been about 2 years that i've been pulling that boat with this car, and i go to the ramp about 2 times a week at least & now i have 22 inch rims on it with makes it weight alot more. But i've had 0 problems with the vehicle so far. it's true in the long run the transmision might get messed up but i don't push it in the street either and maintain it real good i guess that's why it hasn't given me any problems, anyways thanx for the comment....
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
@69CherryPopper Why anyone would put 22 inch rims on a automatic 4-cylinder Camry (and I'm guessing they're clad in really shitty Chinese-made tires) is beyond me. But to each his own...
wilca59 1 year ago
Well, it's an eye catcher that's for sure, & as far as tucking in 22" in a car & still maintaining the cars height with thought them rubbing at all I still believe it's an accomplishment that not many people can really afford. Since the cost of gas is definitely going 2 be much higher not counting the adjustments needed 2 be made 2 the suspension that just adds 2 the bill. But everyone has their own opinions, sum like it some hate it. I just like the fact that everyone has something to say lol.

ive noticed almost everyone that buys this little boats to put there boat in the water once in a bluee moon they have to have a big pick up i know what u mean i have a lil 6 banger i put my boat in the water less ur going somewhere with it far u dont need a big truck
natecorn2007 1 year ago
Ones i towed and also took in and out of the ramp a Yamaha twin engine 18ft jetboat also with this same car & it felt about the same weight cause it was only about 400 pounds heavier then mines not mutch difference, but i still wouldn't try a 20ft that's just simply pushing it to far u know....but anyways thanx for ur comment.
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
r we supposed to be imopressed ??
natecorn2007 1 year ago
Not really, this video was made just so that people can see that not having an SUV or truck does not limit yourself to having a boat or Jetski & still being able to pull it up the Ramp.

magicjeep77 1 year ago
You'll be surpriced but i've never had trouble on the ramp before, i even had to pull out a little Ford Ranger out the water about 2 months ago, cause being rear wheel drive it went back in the ramp instead or forward LoL & with only a single Jetski LoL
69CherryPopper 1 year ago
fwd drive car pulls out the water better then a 2wd truck...its physics
turbomiata007 1 year ago
that car brand new off the show room floor only has a 1500lbs towing power. depending on how old your car is depends on how much you can tow. hint. the older it is the less it will tow. i tow campers for a living and your car sounded like it was straining its guts out getting up that little hill. the boat and trailer is what maybe 800lbs you have to add your weight and add the water thats still in your boat and engin so another 200-300lbs, your car is not ment for that its a little 4cyl.
itwontme1111 2 years ago
This video is like saying i smoked crack got drunk and took several hits of acid but look at me i'm alive. It must be okay to do this to your body!
Anyone who knows chit would know that a manual would be better since you could at least shift later but that automatic has no clue when to shift with a load like that. FYI a tow haul setting generally tells the tranny to shift later because you want to run high rpm's not low.
mlcurcio1989 2 years ago 5
LoL LMFAO!! Yeah i know manual is alot better for that, but for daily driving here in Miami I'd recomend Automatic, or else ur hand will litteraly fall off LoL. I also put the car on L when going up the ramp & i also use the emergency break alot If i'm gona stay still with the boat behind me...
69CherryPopper 2 years ago
@mlcurcio1989 i know this was awhile ago, but your an idiot, makes no difference, autos can be shifted manually. make sense when you're going to "act smart".... and quote things written in automotive manuals. :D
KnyphsEdge 1 year ago
Also only going 1500 rpm's is a bad thing. The engine internals are going to be under more stress at low rpms. You saying that just shows that you have no clue how a car works. Your going 5 miles an hour so yeah its going to be in 1st gear and putting out 1.5k rpms. Rpms are directly related to the speed of the vehicle and you run higher rpms to hold yourself in the power band longer but when your going 5mph in a vehicle without a tcase you have no choice but to put out low rpms.
mlcurcio1989 2 years ago
Well i just wanted to let people know how high they would go because everyone seems to ask me about the RPMs but that's only while taking it up the ramp, after in the street driving I'll go way faster of course...The fastest i've gone with the triler in the back is like 65 at most on highways, Mines is an Automatic by the way
69CherryPopper 2 years ago
So if RPM's are directly related to the speed of a vehicle, how come when my pickup is in low transfer, it will turn 2100 rpm at less than 10mph, but I can run 75mph at the same RPM in high gear, in overdrive on the interstate? Do I have a magical pickup\ Also, What do torque converters do in relation to engine RPM and the speed of a vehicle? What is considered normal torque converter slippage for a 4cyl Toyota in the forementioned video? Just asking cause you seem to be an expert.
jlkf250 2 years ago
What i was saying is that in a sedan that has an auto transmission and obviously no x case to say that the car was not working hard based on the rpms is not an accurate statement. The torque converter will have an effect on that but regardless you cannot judge the strain that your putting on the internals under a load like that based on rpms.
those boats weigh close to 1500lbs plus the trailer weight.
mlcurcio1989 2 years ago 2
Gotcha there, I'm more impressed he didn't break traction with a front wheel drive with all the extra weight on the back!
jlkf250 2 years ago
Well like i said its not going to damage it right away but that is putting loads of stress on a transmission not designed to hold up to that. I guarantee that tranny is going to go out prematurely. What does the vehicle only having 30k have to do with anything? You obviously do not understand the r&d process that goes into designing vehicles. No one is saying you can't do that it just WILL damage the vehicle in the long run.
mlcurcio1989 2 years ago
True it might damage it but i just mentioned the 30K miles on it so that you knew that it's not a Vehicle that has more then 100K on it. Because as we all know vehicles that have more mileage and years on them will not work as great as a mutch newer one....
69CherryPopper 2 years ago
Yeah it can pull it out but that is going to destroy the vehicle. I am sure the engine can handle that but the transmission and the rest of the drive train will get destroyed. You pulling two thousand pounds with a transmission that was designed for a small car. Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should.
mlcurcio1989 2 years ago
Ur right, it's not designed to pull it. I've towed my boat exacly for a year with it and now the car has 22 inch wheels so u know it's heavy but it has not given me any problems at all up to this point, it also has less then 30K miles on it. Well Thank you for your comment...
