I used to live there, but kept getting lost...so I decided it was a tad too big for just one person and a dog, so I decided to move...I never did find the kitchen, but I will say I got a really great workout walking up and down those stairs..and the amount of Windex it took to clean those window.. ;-) Kirk xx
What a beautiful building, inside and outside. I was born and raised in TO, and have never been inside Casa Loma, only drove by it, once in a while. One day I will go inside and have a peek at this great landmark.
It's been over 30 years since I was there last, there were no gardens to speak of then, just a lawn. The room I remember most was the Conservatory (your video really didn't do it justice) and the secret passages! I need to go back, Thanks for the reminder!
@naignik Yes, it's just over $20 with the taxes, or you can get a museum combo pass that includes Casa Loma with a bunch of other area attractions like the CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum and Hockey Hall of Fame...
yo u have to go at night time with a bounch of people like around 12.30 to 1 am, i went there and sat in the parking lot for a while and i saw some ghost apering out of no where in the distence. i took a walk around the castle and in one of the towers i saw a pere white ghost in the window moving its arms for about 10 to 15 seconds and then dissapered it scared the shit out of me
Hi Hisbigness, great video tour! Casa Loma is such a strange and beautiful place. You should consider submitting this, and any other relevant videos, to the Canada’s Got Treasures collection by joining our YouTube group (/group/TresorTreasure). It would be made available on our channel and website. Help celebrate Canadian diversity!
I was here back in 1999. They were filming a movie (can't remember the name) and many of the rooms were off limits the day we went... thanks for showing them here.
It's funny, they were doing some restoration work the day I went that posed some problems. Had to deal with some scaffolding when trying to get external shots...
A great place to go in the summer, not so much in the winter. They were doing renovations the last time I was there, so the top of the towers were out of service. Definitely rich accommodations to say the least.
Yea, but i was with my grade and a parent ( i was only in grade 4) so toa garde 4 student it would be really creepy =S so when i went it was all cool =P. I would hate to be alone in that tunnel after closing hours and have all the light`s shut off down there =S i wouldent go down there X(.
A couple of episodes of the Canadian TV show "Friday the 13th the Series" were filmed at Casa Loma. They were titled "The Poison Pen" and "Wedding in Black".
And I'd have loved to see what the area around Casa Loma looked like some 88 years ago when your great grandmother was standing there. Casa Loma sits on a hill facing south towards downtown, but back then the view would have been completely different
The underground tunnel between the main house and the old stables/garage area is a little creepy, but that's only because it's a long, damp tunnel. Otherwise, despite a ghost rumour or two, no I wouldn't say the place is scary
when i was small i went thier they say thier are 4 ghosts sir henry, lady mary,a little boy and a little girl they said sir henrys presence was everywhere lady mary was in the master bedroom and somtime the spare room the boy was in a bedroom and the little girl was in the stable i rember they told me at night they could hear her singing in another language
i live in toronto and ive been to casa loma. me and my dad experienced weird things there but spirts are already prone to us (we dont know why and we are not phsycist). my dad saw a stool move across a room and he claimed he was the only one in there and i saw a dark shadow of a man(most likely sir henery).we actully have a picture of me & my nonna from there and some weird transperent figure is infrount of us. some pretty weird stuff there!
hey! XD you`re italian, aren`t you? nyaha~ I have a Nonna too :D and I live in Toronto too~ I wouldnt be surprized if the ghosts are there, that`s what makes the castle even more charming! And I`m glad the ghosts get to stay in the castle they couldnt live in for very long when they were alive XD
Actually, Sir Henry Pellatt was not a military man, he made millions with the Toronto Electric Company and mining stocks he made. It's in my history text book.
People say the underground tunnel and the carriage house it connects to might be haunted, as well as possibly the servant's staircase, but there are no "confirmed" ghosts in Casa Loma
I forgot to mention my first act as the new owner would be to play Oblivion music during hours its open to the public.. man it would be so epic. If anyone has oblivion music here play 'Watchman's Ease' and watch this video.
Actually, Casa Loma has been used as a location in over 20 major films in the past. In the lower level hallway there are film posters from all the movies made there. Including "Chicago ", which ironically was filmed entirely in Toronto.

can you imagine how much it cost the guy who bought it?
redskull256 1 year ago
@redskull256 Well it pretty much bankrupted Sir Henry Pellatt who built it. The City seized the property when he couldn't pay his property taxes!
