  • 65 days of static :D

  • what's realer than fat n tendons? its raw. No soft tissue to draw your eyes to it. So far, flesh aint the truest at all. Lets rip into it.

  • Dessa @ 1:14

  • Hip Hop lives

  • heavy snare beat drops and shivers down my spine every god dam time

  • qqq

  • I like that Jane Doe t-shirt.

  • this guy sounds so much like sage francis its scary

  • @SAspacekids naw sage and brother ali is a closer match

  • We shouldn't care about how many views he's getting, but we should be buying his album.

Think of it this way, G-Shock sells 2 million units every year, whereas Rolex sells 20,000. Which would you prefer to have because of quality?

P.O.S in this case, is a Rolex!

  • wow so glad i found P.O.S!!

  • Easily one of the most beautiful hip hop tracks ever written.

  • Was that a Converge shirt?

    Massive props

  • fuck, to think ive been stuck on atmosphere and blue scholars and grieves and the like thinking isnt there any new guys around? how long have you been around, shiiit

  • @tie4535 I was the sme way as you up until about a couple years ago but for real P.O.S. is the best artist on Rhymesayers, his lyrics are deep, you can notice something new even after you think you have the song pegged, he's a genius btw check out his Pear Jam cover

  • @scottdubtube yaaaa dude, checked it out, its definitely sick. hit me up, we can split music. underground for liffffe

  • @tie4535 For...a WHILE haha. Check the rest of Doomtree. Stef (POS) is dope but Cecil, Sims, Mike Mictlan, and Dessa ALL are masters of their respective styles. Very well versed musicians in full. Lazerbeak is one of the best producers as well IMO

  • most artistic and deep music around

  • Been listening to P.O.S for a few years ~ had the pleasure of meeting the guy in Toronto .

This song definitely hits home ~ feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel that drum beat and feel the words ~ love it.

  • thats gotta be the 1st an last time Isis(RIP) is refered to in a song ever

  • This guy is more real than my girlfriends tits. Amen to the good shit.

  • I remember hearing this on MTV two years ago and haven't heard it since. I realized how much I loved it because it actually means something unlike these new commercial mainstream garbage songs that we here on the radio which has no real meaning

  • DOOMTREE FUCKERS!

  • Why had i never heard of this cunt?

  • Comment removed

  • Instantly knew you were Australian due to this comment haha. Probably the only country where the C word isn't always used as a derogatory term

  • @PaulKing1992 It;s called underground you main stream faggot

  • As soon as the drums came into the hook, Holy Crap!

  • I've been searching for this rap song in which there is an allusion to the folk song "there's a hole in my bucket" (I think the lyrics are: "there's a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, though i'm not sure). One way or another I keep thinking that it's from a song from P.O.S., but I browsed through most of his lyrics and didn't find a thing... Maybe it's just from another rapper from Doomtree or Rhymesayers and I get them mixed up... Anyone who could help me with this? :)

  • @MathijsBetterman I'm not entirely sure if I'm right, but try Dessa!

  • @MathijsBetterman -It's Spearhead of the cd "Home".

  • this guy is cold heard about him through a friend and after a week of listening im a fan

  • this kinda reminded me of Sage Francis

  • I love the fact that I can actually tell where he is in the vid. Minneapolis is awesome.

  • The only band that I can actually never be sick of listening to. I am a fiend.

  • Just a silly thought, but I like to imagine he chose to speak the lyrics directly into the camera so he wouldn't have to help everybody else set up the stage and instruments.

  • Such a dope video.

  • Everyone should listen to the live video with like, 2k views. Better than the actual CD version.

The drop on this is amazing.

  • minneapolis suburbs.....god i miss that place...

  • Converge T-Shirt FTW

  • Been there since the milk crate shows. Thumb wars and all, keep rockin your shit, Steph. We believe in the pos and know the pos.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheWatsonGreen then you got some skill and yeah, many people can freestyle and they can do it well, but I guess my preference is just a song with lyrics that can be played over a million times and you can still find a new meaning or be spoken to each time

  • Music with Substance.. when that tingling feeling on the back of your neck happens something real happens.. yea THAT JUST HAPPENED>>>

  • I remember staying up late at night to see this on mtv when they had the indie artist segment. I've been listening to his albums daily ever since.

  • this man have a beat?

  • this man is a musician.

  • I wish this version had the vocal energy of the live versions

  • I'm pretty sure he can freestyle. Probably not that great. But he's a favorite regardless.

  • Lyrical and energetic. One of the greatest emcees I've ever heard!

  • @chives4545 it's in Mpls actually. (:

  • I love his smiley piercing =]

  • Did I see Dessa?

  • "Fuck it, back to the wall." That line just has so much raw meaning, it almost brings tears to my eyes.

  • Oh my god.

  • why is it that the most common lame music makes it to the radio and the real, good, deep, inspiring beats and lyrics remain unheard. bassakwards my friends

  • Why is it that the best music out there is the stuff not enough people know about?

  • @GGubs Because it makes it better to listen to

  • @GGubs Ancient Greek philosophers couldn't even answer that question.

  • @GGubs no its underground. that means that just the right amount of people know about it :)

  • @davidcadario So true.

  • @GGubs It's why it is still the best music. Trust me it's for the better of mankind-- and my eardrums. They don't want to win the popularity contest, they want to do what they love to do, and maybe make a dime off it. I'd love to live off what I love to do.. wouldn't you?

  • @GGubs Because the masses don't want to hear it for some sad reason

  • @GGubs Because you are a dirty hipster.

  • I'm into post-hardcore, metalcore sometimes, synth, dream pop, alternative rock... And I've never been much of a hip hop fan. But this... is just beautiful.

  • this is good music for life...anyone just get choked up from this song?

  • At was at the concert shown at the beginning of this vid! It's at First Ave. Saint Paul Slim performed also. It was sick! POS came out for an encore after everyone shouted "one more song!"

  • @ovech4pres was that the show where moonstone and slapping purses opened, both were terrible, for prof and sps, pos?

  • @MkUltra18 Yea...one had a cross-dressing guitarist and the other was booed off stage.

  • @ovech4pres Hahaha I was front and center for that show. Best show ever, excluding the two terrible openers.

  • 1:20, fifth element record store, owned by rhymesayers in uptown st. paul, probably the sickest place out there

  • thumbs up if you thought youtube was lagging

  • Minnesota 2:20 FTW

  • HOLY HELL!

  • 1:14 Is that Dessa? Glimpses of Doomtree is always a treat. Sick song!

  • me and joe like real shit

  • 0:49 =O

  • mexico and ton fox chido

  • HE just came to my movie theater haha

  • the verses were sick, but what killed this song for me was the sped up drumming and everything just got loud and i didn't feel that :/

  • @phokisfreestylepage not to start shit but pos wasn't originally a mc, he was and still is in various punk bands and as far as freestyle skills I remember pos, sims and mac lethal freestyling for about 20 mins or so at the delta house after party in denton texas for the pos is ruining my life tour back in 05 or was it 06 and seemed to be able to hold his own.

  • 1:18 through 1:24 that's 5th element!!! (a record store and Rhymesayers HQ in uptown for those of you not from Minneapolis)

  • If this didn't win you over on P.O.S. or Promise Of Stress then you will have to look up P.O.S. is ruining my life. Unbeleivable.

  • YEAH MINNY!!

  • @taserdoll, nah just cuz you spend time on ya lyrics isnt a good reason not to be able to freestyle. If these concious rappers like Mos Def or Common heard that they would be ashamed. And original it is, but i just dont find the real impressive thing with this track. I like the flip in the hook and the lil bell verse rap, other than that its actually pretty skippable. i mean my home girl Xy had a link for this video, other than that i wouldnt have heard of them. Where are they from?

  • insane

  • P.O.S and S.L.U.G need to do an entire album together. Who's with me?

  • @Overlijden1995

wish eyedea could have joined them

  • @Overlijden1995 i think they're way too different for it to work. i could see a slug and brother ali album though

  • @frankyrocksmyrocks Watch bleeding hearts club and tell me they don't work together well

  • @Overlijden1995 Slug doesn't have any periods in his name. LOL

  • @ChrisHoglund Sean Loves Ugly Girls it's called an acronym, look it up.

  • @Overlijden1995 Word up! Add features by Brother Ali, Grieves, a Rhymesayers posse cut and a Doomtree posse cut (or both on one track!) and you got a classic.

Though I am worried about productions... I doubt that Slug will sound good over Doomtree/POS production... Cause for real, POS over Ant beats is a no imo, he needs a lot more power (which can be found in POS, Lazerbeak and Paper Tiger productions).

  • @Overlijden1995 you just made my life better with that idea

  • Check out HipHopRepository

  • Just saw POS in concert about a half hour ago. We asked him to freestyle and he admitted he didn't know how because he always spends time on his lyrics. That's the way it should be.

  • @taserdoll That's real.

  • @taserdoll haha that didnt happen to be at the university of minnesota? same thing happened there

  • @MBIIdollaBill Yeah, it was there.

  • @taserdoll

Don't be a hater. They're two different styles. That's like saying Improv shouldn't exist since we have stand up comedians who write their own jokes.

  • @FlippyGoneTrippy I didn't mean for it to come off that way at all. I just meant that it's nice to hear he spends time on his lyrics because he cares about them and cares about how to get his message across, and not that he just wants to show he can string words together off the top of his head. Now, when it comes to people doing freestyle, more power to them if they care about what they're saying or are trying to achieve something. I just don't appreciate meaningless improv.

  • @taserdoll save the paragragh im off school nigga

  • @FlippyGoneTrippy There's no need to be disrespectful.

  • @taserdoll thats an ignant statement, go back to africa ya fuck!!

  • @Qweeftastic I've never been to Africa and don't see how that has anything to do with anything. I didn't mean to offend anybody, just wanted to say I appreciate the time he takes to write his lyrics.

  • @taserdoll sorry i was just being random and gay, but nothing wrong with freestyling it takes a lot of talent as well but i understand ur point

  • @taserdoll That's what freestyle is anyway, you still have to study words and phrases than you can use in a freestyle. There's nothing special about it except adapting to the topic what you've studied.

And they say rappers are dumb!

  • @taserdoll IDK about that, bro. The ability to come up with deep words off the top of ones head is enviable

  • @taserdoll Alright, no. Honestly, he should be highly capable of spitting something almost as nice as his written work. Pusha-t, Canibus, Jay z, Big L. etc. can freestyle and it's dope, and when they write it's even better. THATS the way it should be. ...That said, POS is still nice.

  • @OsmosisDives to be honest freestyling to me is just writing very fast

its like telling a painter they have 5 minutes to draw a picture or a novelist that he has 10 minutes to write his next novel

its cool to do and requires a lot of talent but these works will probably never be as good as something they really worked on

that being said I may be a little biased because i have never produced a decent freestyle although i do have like a million recordings of me starting then losing confidence

  • @SpykoXX The idea is to just keep going when you lose confidence and come up with another idea. Then eventually you don't have that problem and when you sit down to actually write you have a much smoother time. To me freestyling is a completely different skill from writing, but it's still an important part.

  • @taserdoll wtf? freestyling takes more skill and talent than someone sitting down and focusing only on lyrics

  • @Michaelmcgmcg i think that @taserdoll is saying how lyrics involve more feeling and mean much more personally than a freestyle does, and yes, freestyle does take a lot of talent if you can do it well, but creating lyrics that can speak to people is an art form in itself

  • @chives4545 what if your freestyle does speak to people?

  • @taserdoll Haha True but theres some really good freestylers, Canibus is the greatest.

  • @taserdoll listen to Prince Ea and tell me a freestyle isn't thought provoking

  • This man is a lyrical genius.

  • He was one of the best live performances that I have seen

  • Haha he's wearing a Jane Doe shirt, didn't think pos could get any more awesome...man I was wrong

  • I just noticed mostly everyone in that video is white.....

    Good shit though.

  • @pringletheone why does that matter?

  • @FightingSioux33 Absolutely nothing Cept there's no negros LOL

  • I know his son Jake! He used to live on my block

  • what a fuckin boss

  • btw guys, if you want an in to this amazing of music, but making music isn't your thing... GET INTO VIDEO EDITING! and MASTER IT! regardless of how good the music is, videos these days have alot of creativity and pre-meditation put into them. imagine being able to visualize a song...good shit.. peacE!

  • CONVERGE

  • Did not expect that Jane Doe shirt.

  • I wish this was mainstream, maybe half the kids today wouldn't be so retarded. I wish lil wayne was underground and no1 ever heard of him.

  • Amazing video, complements the song captivating ability. This song immortalizes the power of words and music. Every time i hear it i get goosebumps

  • Rhymesayers makes the most unique, uplifting music. So dope.

  • This is a gorgeous video, musically and visually.

  • i hate this gone mainstream arguement. p.o.s is getting recognition he's deserved since ipecac neat and if you claim your a fan you'd see that

  • these guys changed my life for the good. i was getting in trouble everyday. untill i heard these guys then i started rapping and kept outa trouble

  • 22 people dont like Joe, or real shit.

  • This is my new theme song...if I ever need one...lol.

  • so good music! =D

  • LET THEM TRY TO FIND THE BEAUTY IN THE BASSLINE

  • Comment removed

  • i absolutely love ANYTHING p.o.s. has been involved with thus far, im not a huge hip hop fan. Ive been in metal and hardcore bands my whole life but the moment i heard "this one" from ipecac neat i was hooked on POS.

    so meaningful. so intelligent.

    so real.

ive spread the word since then.i hope to see him live in so.cal someday

  • it is not the music that should move it should be the words and meenings of wich the music speaks of

  • He is just so amazing. Love the song. <3

  • I had my doubts about being a musician...now I don't have any :)

  • soo underrated

  • lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove x 100000000000000000000

  • This song has helped me through so much shit. Thank you POS keep it real.

  • @ 0:25 Above the picture he's grabbing is the cover for Strange Famous artist, B. Dolan's "The Failure."

  • Love the Converge shout-out in this video. Song rules too.

  • @crpimachine

    expect a visit.

  • haha i own that converge shirt!

  • Hell yeah Jane Doe shirt! :P

  • P.O.S speaks the truth! His songs are the soundtrack of my life! Fuck all the naysayers because we all like the real shit.

  • I think everyone misunderstands the idea of "mainstream." I don't see mainstream as appearing on MTV and doing big concerts, mainstream is more like they belong to a big music company (ie Eminem, Lil Wayne, Rhianna) and lose all their creativity and musical ability because they're allowing the company to boss them around and make them release songs that they want. P.O.S. might become popular and be on T.V. but as long as he stays true to his style, there is no problem with that.

  • @M0rBiDxFA lol listen to spose - pop song. you're not allowed to keep your style.

  • Muy buena canción

  • P.O.S. stands for piece of shit to me and my friends lol

  • @JordiniTine oh wow hahaha omg! that's so original i didn't even THINK of that!

you and your friends are morons.

also, what's this i hear about POS going mainstream?

  • @Neptune0100 pos as in piece of shit or the band. ive never heard of this band before. yes, me and my friends are stupid

  • @JordiniTine He's just a single artist, not a band. I'm also sure he produces his own music, if you like him you should check out Doomtree. It's the group he works with, Cecil Otter, Dessa, Mike Mictlan, all of them are good.

  • @M0rBiDxFA both the Doomtree label and RSE are amazing.

  • @Neptune0100 i wouldn't say mainstream but i know he has been on mtv a few times

  • @TheTecstudios huh, i never knew that.

  • @JordiniTine I believe P.O.S. originally meant Pissed Off Stef.. but I bet he'd except the more well known meaning for said acronym. He has roots in punk rock and it is very punk rock to call yourself a piece of shit.

  • @roar329 Product of Society

  • I´m german and I love this fucking amazing Track !!! <3

  • @Paff1991 hey, so is P.O.S, he's german too

  • dope dope dope!!!

  • I dunno man, me and Joe like real shit.

  • p.o.s. is the shit, if you guys want to hear true hip hop, check out my channel

that'll be cool, later guys, LIVING JUSTICE

  • one of my all time favorite songs. love the video too. pos is a musical genius.

  • the rap world is flipped upside down, why are these guys on bottom?

  • @ETSJoshVoxx I agree the hip hop world is all messed up right now but Rhymesayers aren't at the bottom they just "underground" lol. see what i did there?

  • @MuthashipPro haha i see that as the same thing, personally i think p.o.s deserves 100 million views not that fucker, i believe rhymesayers should be on top of the rap game not young money, but thats just me haha
