How do you deal with the issue of batter life and Memory card space? It seems that filming would drain a few batteries and maybe fill a memory card or two.
@Gamer5449 it would but the camera quality isnt amzing, also it would rape your ipads memory, on an 8gb mem card, with a 14 mp camera i can take 21 minutes of film so you would want to remove the films once your done. however it would work ok
Why do you feel the need to have the background music in your clips? I find it distracting and doesn't make for comfortable listening. When I'm watching the clips I find my mind wonders off to thinking about how annoying the music is rather than concentrating on the great content you have to offer
being in a film group I have a slight advantage in filming. heres some tips: for reduced shakyness and you want to move around i sugest getting a "fig rig" you I made one out of PVC and it works wonders(look up indy mogul). I have everything I need a decent camera, and Adobe after effects but no extra players :(
I usually have a wide shot of the scene to give the viewer a good idea of where the units are on the board, then "zoom in" (with what ever form of transition) and do the battle-phase.
Else it just looks like a bunch of detached fights with no sense of context.
This is a very solid video. Good for the community. I hope this gets the effect you seek Matt. I'm certainly going to start doing some bat reps at my local store. I hope to have it in an ESPN style. Very dynamic, maybe even some special effects? I dunno. I only plan to do one like once a month.
I really like this style of batrep, much more engaging and in depth than the turn recap, and being a new player, I can understand the battle much better and learn more about the game itself through watching batreps in this style.

Cool to see the process you employ in making these BatReps. Cheers for the share buddy.
