I think this song reflects the high of Dramamine. The circling pattern of the music,and the lyrics perfectly capture feelings of frantic "schizo" paranoia. This song also follows the infamous "Loud Quiet Loud" sound, made famous by The Pixies. Coincidentally their most popular track, "Where Is My Mind", was on the soundtrack for the movie "Fight Club". (A film with a heavy reference to Schizophrenia.)

This is like...one of my favorite Modest Mouse songs, so seeing an interpretation close to what I see in it (visually speaking) was really neat!

Next time I'd try a costume that looked more natural--maybe ripped up sweater and jeans as to a shirt sewn for the video itself...making it stained, like he's been in the woods for a while, could have helped too. Also I think the quality towards the end (not at the end itself) is grainy in one spot. Ohter than that, good job. REALLY good job.

Here I'll have to disagree. I picture something similar when I hear the song and was delighted to find the video in that it seemed along the lines of what I see in concept. I've always pictured a mean rat playing best friend with a madman when I hear it. Everyone's entitled to their own views, but I don't think this disgraces Modest Mouse but brings out the meaning in the song.

Now that's just me, and my opinions tend to be a little "off."

I don't think even the "depressing" ones are actually depressing. There is certainly sadness. Like in third planet, lovers lose their child, and therefore an entire universe. But even songs like Trailer Trash don't seem to be only depressing, as their is always the air of beauty to be found, and benefits to be made of seemingly negative situations. "we're only here to make more dirt, and that's okay" because "there's so much beauty in dirt"
