There are 3 basic parts - an egg 'cradle' (the triangle shaped basket the egg is held in) 6 popsicle stick 'brakes' (two popsicle sticks clamped around the long wooden dowel with the ends pinched together.) and a 3-rail wooden dowel 'track' - The 'brakes' are attached to the 'cradle' and since they hug the track (providing friction) when it's dropped, the track hits the ground first, and then the cradle slides down the track, with the brakes slowing the eggs fall.
