  • I WISH I WAS ALIVE THEN. Jesus, I would have killed to be there. My first concert was only last year on his birthday.. then again 2 days later. Even though they were fantastic and I cried both times, Elton in 2011 can't even compare to 1975 Elton. You folks may be complaining that you're old.. but I would do ANYTHING to be as old as you and have a fraction of the opportunities that you've had. JEALOUS.

  • I was there for two shows. Holy shite! Never really wanted to see him again after that...

  • Brilliant song. I was at the concert too. I was the extremely handsome little kid eating an ice cream sandwich in the left field bleachers.

  • My friend Karen and I were at this concert.....up front...and soooo many great many memeories....WOW!

  • I was there too. 16 years old and being tossed into the air by people holding a blanket. I remember it vividlly! What a perfect day!

  • I was THERE!!!!! Seen him 8 more times since then, but this was the BEST concert of my whole entire life. Happy 64th Birthday, Elton!!!!!!

  • I was very lucky to be at that fantastic concert. It was my third Elton concert at the time (after seeing him at the Hollywood Bowl and The Forum), and I've lost count how many times I've seen him since. What great memories. That's what inspired me to become "Elton Frank". Check out my YouTube Channel! Elton was and always will be the greatest.

    ~ "Elton Frank"

  • i was there for this concert 10/75, my first concert. THIS was OUR bealtemania moment! elton, dodger stadiium, at his absolute zenith/peak. i believe it was 5 or 6 SOLD OUT shows in a row at dodger stadium. fucking incredible the popularity of this guy. and as Edhallick wrote, this guy surely was not the best looking guy in the world, but he was cassidy/sherman/garrett/frampton rolled into one in terms of the girls in school liking him. elton at his peak was as big as the bealtes and elvis!

  • Nice one Edhallick, they are all puppets strutting around like hoares to sell records and stay on the popstar roundabout, by selling their souls.

  • I love this song. Mainly cuz I'm named after it it lol

  • it was a magical time that will never happen ever ever again! be glad if you were there! this guy was in the league of lennon and mccartney. he also sent a birthday card to one of my redneck friends in alabama during his child's birthday in 1974. a good caring guy.

  • Rock on, dear Sir Elton:)!--

  • Few artists and groups can perform like Sir Elton live. To get a sound like this in a large venue like Dodger Stadium is remarkable.

  • My best day ever! 14 yrs old right up front! On my 16 yr old boyfriend's shoulders.. I was sure Elton pointed right at me.. lol My long ago boyfriend, Daniel, passed away last summer.. but he will always be my big strong surfer boy, and to hear this song again..the actual recording, just tugs my heart strings,, Thank-You, Lisan

  • touching! greets from a big EJ fan in Poland (originally from the u.s.)

  • @lisanagain aw! but wasn't incredible? he played for 6 hours only taking a 30 min break

  • I WAS THERE!

  • wow.

  • Me too! I was 14

  • Remember this being the flip side of "Bennie And The Jets." Never understood why this wasn't a double sided hit? Had every potential to be. Excellent song from one of the 70's best albums.

  • YEAH! GO DODGERS!

    GO ELTON!

  • one of my fav Elton songs by far... xx

    Thank you Elton!

  • You know that there are films of this in a vault somewhere. Where are they?

  • I know!! My father calls Elton John a hoarder of his stuff. lol.

  • Don P. Carroll

I was there at Dodgers Stadium 10/25/1975 I sat in the press box with Elizabeth Montgomery, Henry Winkler, and Elton John's Grandmother. What a awesome show. One that I will remember for the rest of my life.

ELTON JOHN ROCK OF THE WESTIES

  • Cool comment!

  • @dpc15601 If there's one concert I would like to be at it's Dodgers '75! L O V E

  • actually that was Tommy LaSorda in the Dodgers uniform before he gained his weight

  • Just as Funeral for a friend/Love lies bleeding was a great intro to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road this was the perfect song to close the album.Brilliant

  • Too bad you don't have the video to this..that would be awesome!!!

  • Oh my God - I last heard that in a record shop selling bootlegs in Boulder, Colorado in 1987!!!

They wanted too much for it... Three decades and four continents later p - THANKS!!!!

  • two decades.

  • @211123436 2.5 decades ;-)

  • This was a Cathy Bruenning favorite!

  • she wasnt worth it...just another chick...they all get old...not worth remembering trust me...

  • I totally agree, and every track on this album is incredible to listen to. In regards to his virginity, I think even at that point, he had been in a romance with his manager, John Reid.

  • I was at this concert too! I was 18. About 20' from the front of the stage.Billie Jean King was there as well as Kiki Dee, and other guests.I got there at 2:ooam and waited all day for it to start. Captain Fantastic was great. Have a great poster of him from this show.

  • Yes, Joe Walsh and Emmy Lou Harris were there too!Still have the programs as well. That was an all-time show, seeing Bernie Taupin in the back of the stage and Davey Johnstone.Have seen him several more times in Seattle. Great musician.

  • I was at the Elton show in 1975 at Dodger Stadium. It was my third concert at the time (Cal Jam And Neil Diamond were 1 & 2). I was only 16 years old at the time. Since then, I have seen Elton 13 times!

  • My favorite song on the album

  • My girlfriend and I were at this concert. It was great. Good old Dodger stadium. Ron Stewart

  • He was so gorgeous back then. The whole package, talented, original, and those tight sexy outfits he used to wear...let me stop. Please no gay comments, I'm a straight woman, he was just perfect in my eyes, and I'm sure alot of other women think so too...Sigh....

  • sexy? Elton would laugh at that - he's always been closer to a hobbit!

  • I agree. I grew up listening to his music - (compliments of my brother who was 8 years older). I fell in love with him way back then, and still think he's amazing to this day. I watched him perform live 2 nights ago. Three full hours of him singing and playing his piano. WOW. Amazing... Gay or not, he is so damn talented and brilliant. Definately the "whole package"...

  • This guy was absolute proof that all the public wants is good music. You got this dumpy small extremely bald guy who looked like an accountant, yet he would send teen girls absolutely crying. I remember it clear as day, I grew up in the `70`s and all the girls in my school were just beyond obsessed with this guy. Him and David Bowie, and it`s because of the music. The industry refuses to recognize that today. It`s all male or female models lip synching.

  • Pre MTV was were it was at!

  • "Pre MTV was were it was at!"

Oh dude, MTV completely destroyed music. It put image in front of sound in terms of importance, and it goes on to this day.

  • @Edhallick... what a perfectly accurate comment. Couldn't have said it any better. It's all about the talent. The talent makes the look. Not the other way around.

  • @Edhallick I so agree, and am still obsessed! I think the fact that Elton seemed "ordinary" on the outside is one reason so many of us identify with him and want to know him more, because we don't want or expect that we can ever look fantastic enough for the "machine". I always felt a sense of hope as a youngster when I saw him play.

  • @Edhallick: raw talent has much to with it - I loved him as much as anyone, as a guy, who is totally straight.

  • @Edhallick Amen!!!

  • @Edhallick Could not agree more.

  • i think this is off the yellow brick road. maybe..oh hell I dont know.

  • it is of the yellow brick road album reliesed in 1973

  • yes it was it was a fairly big hit amoung elton fans, theres a fantastic performance of this song on here from central park

  • yes it was it was a fairly big hit amoung elton fans, theres a fantastic performance of this song on here from central park

  • i do confirm. it's on "goodbye yellow brick road" - 1973 - his best period until 1976, ide est "blue moves". this two double albums are the best ones... simply the best.

  • Yep..its off Goodbye Yellow Brick Road...last song on the album...

  • I was there, and remember the bell tree accompaniment on this song by Ray Cooper which made the song sound even better. I was hoping back then an album like "Here and There" of this concert would have been released. An appropriate name for it could have been "The Artful Dodger".

  • This beautiful song was my favorite for years and years ... so nice to see others noticed it too. I can die in peace now. :>

  • Beautyful song!!

  • this is from the "Hecho en Mexico" LP

  • this is great actually dodger stadium such a great concert good singing from elton Hecho en Mexico" LP wats that?

  • Vinyl bootleg :) one side Dodger Stadium the other side from another CA concert in 1975.

  • omg bootleg of whole concert thats faboulus make it official!! CA concert omg ithis is a dream :O

  • It's only partial but it seems like some were made with different songs. I've seen at least 2 different versions on ebay since I've been watching them.

  • OMG is this off the "Hecho en Mexico" LP? If you have that I am soooo jealous!
